Trump Tells Personal Accountant To Ignore Dem Subpoena For His Financial Info

We are on our way to a one party rule on the elections that count, and no the House of representatives doesn’t count anymore. I’ve seen how this dynamic works, unless people starts getting out on the streets, the great American experiment with democracy will end. But most people couldn’t care less about it, specially with the new season of GoT coming… and some wankers think that the 2nd amendment protects us against tyranny…

Don’t need a flashing red light for this one. We got the message. Thanks Gym.

First, this kind of interference by the minority party in oversight investigations is well past the line in terms of appropriate behavior…which is nothing new for Republicans, nor surprising, but it does show how desperate they are to keep any government oversight from happening in areas they currently control.

And, they should be afraid, the interference in voting the US is as bad as it has been since the time of Jim Crow, and with the same intent: keeping people of color from voting. They argue it’s due to party concerns, but that doesn’t make it any less racist as a policy, or less unAmerican. We fought an entire war over representation and ended up with a new nation…the people who founded this nation warned us about the current crop of Republicans, and hopefully Americans eventually understand that and get rid of them.

Their letter mentions “House Rule X,” which is footnoted as follows:

See House Rule X.

Really, House Republicans? Guess what? After the Blue Wave of 2018, the Dems in the House don’t need your fucking permission. They are now the majority, a fact that you little losers can never get into your concrete craniums. Eat shit and die, you whiny little bitches!

Here’s another example of those nasty Democrats sticking their federal noses in states’ business.

Jim Jordan is a POS™.

They are afraid the Democrats are going to find out how GOP/Russia rigged the vote.

What recourse, if any, does Chairman Cummings have in dealing with such traitors in his midst? Not only are they not interested in performing the obligations required of them as Committee members, they’re actively sabotaging legitimate oversight duties. As such, they have no business being on that Committee.

The Democrats, being the majority in this House, get to write the rules.

What are State Level voting rights issues?

I know Democrats reasonably worry about a tit-for-tat escalation with Republicans, but once again, they’re abusing the rules for partisan political advantage. When they’re engaging in tipping off potential objects of inquiry or actively sabotaging and thwarting the Committee’s work, it’s time to find a way to freeze them out.

Bigots and Racists do what Bigots and Racists do. My understanding is States don’t have any legal ability to defy these subpoenas.

Yes, I agree it’s not a stupid thing to worry about – but on the other hand no one should imagine that Republicans will refrain from doing something (bad or aggressive) just because Democrats have refrained from doing it in the past.
