Discussion: House Intel Member Gowdy: I'm 'Awaiting The Mueller Investigation'

“From the standpoint of where these matters are best investigated, I don’t think it’s in Congress right now,” Gowdy said Sunday…

‘…because Paul Ryan let one of Trump’s stooges run the show and I didn’t say anything about it.’

Sure, try to have it both ways, you two-faced little traitor. But you almost can’t blame him, because the face he was born with is indelibly expressive of the junkyard rat he is inside.

I don’t know if I want to laugh at the underbussing, applaud the skillful dagger work or spit in disgust at the shameful hypocrisy.

I’m quite confident that Gowdy thought the GOP controlled Congress was the ultimate tool to conduct thorough, in depth investigations that produced infallible conclusions on the operations of a Democratic administration. Funny how things change so quickly.

No sh*t Sherlock.
We are all awaiting the investigation.

Seems like a classic “all of the above” situation.

If anyone knows how fucked up Republican Congressional investigations can be, it’s this guy.

Thanks, California. Good job.

Wow, I must be dreaming. Gowdy said something that was not only reasonable, but that I actually agree with. It almost makes we wonder if he has a sense that the Mueller report is going to be full of so much information of a negative kind that he just doesn’t want to be embarrassed by putting himself too squarely on the other side.

I agree. We can all see where this is headed and only a complete asshat, like Nunes, would tie themselves to the railroad tracks to help someone who really doesn’t give a damn about him or his Party.

Gowdy is a partisan attack dog occasionally masquerading as a smart tough prosecutor. He knows enough to leave Congress, and he knows he had better temper his image for his future employment.

The good part of this is that I don’t think he would hedge this much if he did not know that there was even more damaging and definitive evidence yet to emerge.

He probably was comparing the intensity of the investigation of Clinton with the investigation of Trump and is actually drawing an accurate comparison. (i.e., they didn’t really investigate Trump)

is “underbussing” your invention? If so, I want to steal it, please.

Who is this guy, and what has he done with Trey Gowdy?

There is not enough soap in all of procter and gamble’s warehouses to clean goudy’s hands. But he’s trying.

As far as I know it may be. First time I remember using it was back during Bridgegate. (Back when I thought Chris Christie’s pattern of bullying and inflicting harm on constituents was an acceptable way to punish political opponents rendered him uniquely unfit for the presidency).

Please do. Everyone should have a legacy of some kind.

“Executive branch investigations are just better than congressional ones."

Especially when the congressional ones are conducted in the most absolute bad faith. E.g., Trey Gowdy’s never ending Benghazi Hearings, e.g., the so called Operation Fast and Furious hearings, e.g., The Devin Nunes, Bob Goodlatte, Trey Gowdy whitewash and cover up investigation of Russian Intelligence Collusion with the GOP and Trump campaign.

Since Nunes has had a close relationship with Michael Flynn for several years and has also served on the Trump transition team, he probably thought that having his committee release a report that essentially says “Nothing to see here. Move along” was a good idea.
