Cool, so popular media gets the big headline. Something along the lines of ‘OBAMA - IN AN UNPRECEDENTED NEVER BEFORE EVER ONCE EVER IN ALL OF HISTORY OF TIME AND SPACE SUED BY CONGRESS OMG SO WOW’. And the issue makes its way to primetime commentary and Sunday talk shows. Where we all get to hear what will likely be some lopsided yet somehow uninformative commentary where we’ll all just have to “leave it in the middle and let the viewers decide!”. All the while the total farce of a political stunt by shit-for-brains Republicans in the House doesn’t get called out for the blatant horseshit that it is. Awesome.
Since 1/20/09, nothing but obstruction, witchhunts, and bullshit votes from these GOP assholes, and now they sue?
Fuck you, GOP, and a hearty fuck you to all the braindead fucks that voted you in!
We’ll waaaay pass suing, planning wasting more taxpayer money on something that they voted to do. It’s time to kick these uncouth, small mind idiots to go… GET YOUR A@#$% OUT AND VOTE 2014…
$25 BILLION FOR S/D, $17 BILLION FOR DEBT CEILING, $40 MILLION BENGHAZI, $$$ MILLION OBAMACARE REPEALED + HEARINGS THAT WENT NOWHERE, $20 MILLION FOR IRS, etc.
And what did you get ? (I tell you NOTHING)
NO min. wage, NO jobs bill, NO supplemental bill, NO tranportation trust-fund reauth.
“…Are you willing…”
Moi?
Boehner is too chickensh*t to follow the Constitution (oh, irony) and impeach.
"progressives and some conservative legal minds warn that if the lawsuit succeeds, it would declare open season for the executive and legislative branches to sue each other over any legal disagreement "
I think Boehner is not that stupid not to see that what House can do, a President can do…
I’m thinking Mr. Speaker is secretly praying this thing gets the toss from whichever judge it winds up in front of.
The Republicans have no time to pass the immigration law, no intention to pass equal pay for equal work. no aptitude to do away with women’s health problems but they have tremendous energy to pass a bill nullifying what they themselves demanded, they have time to pass ACA repeal bill for 40+ times. Now they should be sued for wasting $ 40+ B by shutting down the government and $ 50B for not doing what they required to do as congressmen (instead of taking full benefit-salary, staff and office expenses etc.).
I know this as to what you speak.
Don’t ruin my fantasy. lol lol
When this gets laughed right out of court, I hope Boner knows which wine goes with crow.
There’s a first time for everything. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for most of us, it could lead to their total irrelevance.
That’ll put people back to work.
They want impeachment. A lawsuit is too namby-pamby for them. All 5 Republican no votes, I believe, were of this type. Impeachment or nothing.
Not seeing it anywhere, did any dollars get attached to this project? Or is it a TBD money pit?
Wouldn’t know: Any attempt to add financial oversight to the bill was voted down in committee – something else that needs to be talked up about this bullshit.
Don’t think the Senate has any say on this one. They were voting on an action by the House ONLY, not by the entire government. They probably did the same thing when Agent Orange said they’d defend DOMA in court if Obama & Holder wouldn’t.
BTW How much did THAT little legal funniest cost the country?
Games
Of
Phools
Paul Broun voted against suing? That seems odd. Was he holding out for an exorcism?
If this sorry mess of elected rich losers could scratch together enough money to pay one among them who is an attorney, that lawyer would tell them that they have no standing.
What is “standing?”
Pay me $300 an hour by return of post, and I’ll teach you something half of these legislative morons are already supposed to know.
You know the saying that, sometimes it’s not what you say but what you don’t say?
With this flock of teabagging Republicans, it’s not what they talk about, it’s what they actually do and what they obstruct.
Suing the President of the United States is the ultimate teabagger move and diminishes our nation so that the least of us can get their cheap thrills. Republicans have become a non-stop embarrassment/national liability.
All this, coming from the party that trots out the “we need tort reform” chestnut every chance they get. Hey GOP - shove that lawsuit up your shithole.
When the administration announced the second delay of the employer mandate in February, many GOP members of the House complained not that he was failing to follow the letter of the law, but that he wasn’t also delaying the mandate for individuals.
If the House suit succeeds, seems to me that those members could be charged with incitement.
