Too bad we can’t call on Flip Wilson to provide the voice-over dubbing for all the GOP pols.
so now they want Obama to use the office he was elected TWICE to act when Congress can’t…won’t …whatever.
soooo…how’s that lawsuit thing going boys?
i don’t recall a senator getting to actively involved in house business to the degree that ted cruz has been… it’s astonishing the level of disruption he’s responsible for.
I am thoroughly enjoying it. bohner is weak, the tea party have destroyed the gop, the dems have this election licked. I’m just going to sit back and enjoy.
The super-wackos want to impeach Obama for taking executive action, albeit less aggressively than the last four presidents. Then, Boehner sues Obama for doing his job.
The super-wackos don’t support their own immigration bill because it wouldn’t go far enough in restricting the president from doing his job. Then, they and Boehner criticize the president for not taking enough executive action.
They’re going to pass a bill. Then, they’re not going to pass a bill. But, whatever happens, it’s all the president’s fault.
The voters hate Congress – having the good sense to hate congressional Republicans more than Democrats. But the voters appear set to give Republicans a Senate majority.
I guess the voters and Republicans deserve each other’s schizophrenia.
Great point, Sarge. All they have to do is report that it’s a “dysfunctional Congress” (as opposed to the dysfunctional House majority that is at fault here).
It’s not that just that the MSM can act as if “both sides do it”; it’s that they must, because otherwise they’d be violating the core beliefs of their balance fetish.
It’s almost as if House Republicans were a bunch of do-nothing, grandstanding, incompetent nutsacks.
Tammy Faye Boehner is the worst Speaker of the House in U.S. history! He can’t even begin to rein in his own party, so I don’t know how he expects to do anything (*Hint: he doesn’t expect to do anything) with the whole Congress.
The utter waste of time over which ManTan’ Boehner has presided is just stunning and staggering.
How can the Bagger Trash House and Boehner the Lush hate kids that much?
At least Newt ‘Divorce a Dying Wife’ Gingrich would have let them work as janitors for f*ck’s sake.
Looks like the GOPigs’ outreach to Hispanics is going just as well as their outreach to women.
Makes you wish ever more intensely there was a trusted figure, a Cronkite or Murrow, who could just say “Look, they aren’t all bums. The one party is far, far worse than the other and they’ve gone off the deep end.” But there’s nobody with that stature. Regular folks, the kind who just don’t know jack about politics, will have to work it out on their fingers, or we’re sunk. Interesting times.
In the Chinese sense of the phrase.
No, but it’s boring reading you.
Even if someone could come up with a third party that made sense (instead of the blinkered, one-issue circuses we have now), who’s going to put up the money to get this sucker moving? Also, if a third-party candidate does get elected, what’s he going to do with a Congress that’s completely controlled by the majors? Unless it’s an all-out assault on both the WH and Congress, merely getting one person into the WH is a waste of time and votes.
We need 2014. We cannot wait. If the GOP holds the House (They will not take the Senate. Bank on it!), the first thing they do when they get back to work is file for impeachment, whether they win or lose on the legal side. Sure, it’ll go nowhere in the Senate, but the Senate will still have to hold the trial, and that’s six more months of doing nothing “and it’s Obama’s fault, because he’s such dictatorial tyrant while being the wussiest President EVER!”
GOTV! GOTV! GOTV! GOTV!
There’s a simple solution that will help the GOP to get a bill passed. Add 2 simple provisions: The immediate repeal of Obamacare, and a clause that more clearly specifies that humanitarian protections in any previous legislation do not apply to Latinos.
The tea party faction will vote for it unanimously, and it will have the same chance of going anywhere that their current atrocity of a bill would have had.
Whenever Republicans fail it reassures America that their perception of the party is correct.
Without question the weakest Speaker of the House in over a generation. Maybe he should ask Nancy for some pointers on the herding of cats.
“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was relieved by the GOP’s decision to pull the bill. Oh my god. It was so awful,” she told reporters. “Thank god.”
Reminder here that these are the same people who want to replace the ACA with their own plan.
GOP Fail…? Hardly…this is completely consistent with their proclivity to be presented with America;s most pressing issues and do nothing but throw roadblocks against the potential solutions. To the dullards that make up this disastrous congressional caucus, doing nothing has been elevated to an art form and the country will negatively affected for a generation.
