Nothing will ever happen unless and until HO vetoes some bill Chaffetz champions or refuses to support some wacko policy Chaffetz wants implemented. And this will happen – HO thrives on his underlings squirming and fighting among themselves, instigated by HO, of course.
“I don’t care who is in the White House. My Job is not to be a cheerleader for the president. My job is to hold them accountable and to provide that oversight,” the letter quotes Chaffetz as saying in August during an interview with CNN’s Jim Sciutto.
Translation: “Jeez, who the hell in August would ever have believed that I would find myself having to at least try to intimate that I was really interested in doing anything about trying to reign in a liar and a crook who just happened to now be our party’s successful President elect?”
But let us also remember that sheer out and out hypocrisy has never bothered the GOP. Shortly we will be faced with a ballooning deficit. Will the GOP still give a s…t? You know the answer.
It is possible that Trump may name Petraeus as his Secy of State…a guy who gave state secrets to his mistress…FAR beyond anything Hillary ever did with her emails. Will the GOP give a s…t? You know the answer.l
And if a Supreme Court justice happens to die in the final 10 days of Trump’s first term, woud the GOP heed a call to wait until after the next election? You know the answer.
Well, maybe when Trump’s unpopularity meets up with election time, a la Dubya 2008
If Trump ends up picking Petraeus for SoS, won’t that make it a whooole lot harder for Chaffetz to go after Clinton?
Given the cast of characters he has nominated for other positions thus far, we should be so lucky
Chaffetz: “General Petraeus is an American hero. To assume that we as a country can’t forgive…”
Holding breath…turning blue.
“I have a duty and an obligation to provide oversight and hold him accountable.”
Wait awhile.
There are more Trump revelations than the incoming committee can handle.
Set a date (after January 20th) and see what his or Paul Ryan’s answer will be around that time.
Whatever the answer, turn it into an ad.
“I don’t care who is in the White House. My Job is not to be a cheerleader for the president. My job is to hold them accountable and to provide that oversight,” the letter quotes Chaffetz as saying in August during an interview with CNN’s Jim Sciutto.
Since then, however, Chaffetz has freshened up the pompoms for use after January 20.
And to keep asking him what he tells his wife and daughters every evening when he gets home about President Locker Room Talker with 12 corroborating victims.
No, because republicans are immune to hypocrisy
But he does have that suspicious email server at Trump, INC. Has it been secured? Is Chaffetz sure this is not the server he is looking for?
“I have a duty and an obligation to provide oversight and hold him accountable.”
Not holding Trump accountable? Let’s just call this an oversight on Chaffetz’ account.
Let’s never forget how unimportant his daughter was when push came to shove.
Trump will provide more than enough ads than the Dems will ever need.
A country can forgive without elevating him to a position that requires an ability to handle sensitive information, an ability which Petraeus has demonstrated he doesn’t have - his loose lips start flapping whenever an attractive woman pays attention to him.
Chaffetz has already been instructed what he will do with these letters: use them as birdcage liners. He isn’t going to take any action on DT, no matter how odious things look. It is always ok if you are a Republican and even more ok when one occupies the Oval Office. Nothing will happen with this. The next four years will look much the same.
Nope
rule #1
If Superman is aupposedly invincible, go after the human members of his family.
I’m sure Chaffetz would just love to dig into Trump’s many conflicts of interest, but he’ll be much too busy for the next four years investigating Hillary Clinton’s email server to have time for Trump.
I’m so not holding my breath waiting for Chaffetz to take time out from persecuting Democrats to look into this.
