Discussion for article #240268
Typical Republicans … all tactics and no strategy.
If I understand how it works, if they don’t vote, the deal still goes through. Right?
Since it is a vote to “disapprove” I can’t imagine how not voting would have any effect on this. What utter asses!
And these are the same idiots who throw a fit when Obama does ANYTHING Presidential. But they keep getting away with their shenanigans without anyone calling BS on them.
Even more proof that they don’t care about governing or the good of the country. Democrats need to hammer this point home.
These are “very serious people.”
Potted plants could do better job than these asshole Republicans when it comes to governing.
Don’t forget the “TM”
Republicans never seem to tire of being made the laughing stocks of politics. They believe they have yet another brilliant plan to beat the Dems and in the end…they simply look like fools. Here’s the next fool looking for his 15 minutes of fame.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the so-called “side deal” between Iran and the IAEA was confidential, and that the US is not privy to it.
If so, how could Obama share those details with Congress?
Most notably anyone in the media. They are probably flexing their false equivalency cards already.
Even the Germans let Jesse Owens jump.
These people are beneath the realm of impossibility.
The same kind of people who would refuse to allow slaves to read and (with a straight face) say that “slaves didn’t have the ability to read”.
Obama just keeps spanking Republican bottom. I love it.
Amateurs talk tactics. Experts talk logistics. These idiots just talk to themselves.
Reminds me of an old Ella Fitzgerald song.
First, you say, you do
And then you don’t
And then you say, you will
And then you won’t
You’re undecided now
So what are you gonna do?
Now you want to play
And then it’s no
And when you say, you’ll stay
That’s when you go
You’re undecided now
So what are you gonna do?
“Undecided” is track #18 on the album The Voice of Jazz. It was written by Robin, Sydney / Shavers, Charles.
The problem with the GOP is twofold: (1) they are convinced that they are always right and, therefore, they never consider the consequences of getting what want. Their thinking is: if I want it, it must be a good thing; therefore, if I get it I will be happy. They never look at the possibility that what they are seeking is not a good thing and are bitterly surprised when what they worked so hard to get was really a kick in their own rears. (2) they are incapable of admitting error. That means that when they screw up, instead of retreating, they embrace their stance and become entrenched.
It is all so junior high to me (middle school to you younguns). I swear these guys ran for student council in the 7th grade and they haven’t changed a bit.
So f***king useless. I could use the money I’m paying them for something else entirely.
Why are they not immediately being called out for "Playing Political Games with our national security?
Instead of accepting this as the latest inane “tactic” from the Republican majority, let’s seize the political opportunity to call this what it is and control the narrative.
Because the press expects this behavior [and will settle for nothing less] from the GOP and has come to accept it as a “normal opposition party.”
What they are trying to do is stop the clock with this resolution, saying in essence, the 60 day window to review and vote on this hasn’t started. By their logic, there is no deal, because Congress hasn’t voted on it, because the Administration hasn’t given them the full details.
What the article leaves out, is do they have enough votes for such a resolution…which is highly doubtful.
The carnival is the goal unto itself. Wear suits, Reagan lapel pins, bluster around, “plot to derail”. That’s it. For a carny, the tactics get you the money. The strategy is to leave town before dawn. But a GOPer con man seldom has to worry about that, in the same way CEOs and bankers are seldom thrown in prison where they belong. What a comfy system of immunity we have designed for our lords and patrons.
No amount of cynicism is too much for the US electoral system. There are no issues. Just money and power for it’s own sake. These guys couldn’t find Iran if it was smeared on the end of their pen0rz.
