Discussion: Hillary Clinton

Funny how it’s always the same reporters faux plugging away at these fake scandals. What are some of the other big investigations Ed’s undertaken? What’s Ed’s success rate at ferreting out an original reported fact connected to his highly theatrical ‘questioning’ schtick?

Not snark when the questioner has no purpose other than to denigrate.

Unfortunately, Hillary should know the double standard to which she is held, that any snarky remark about being victimized by the media will rebound against her, that the media is mostly against her because of who she is, and the Rethugs hate her damn near as much as they hate Obama. By running for Pres, she HAS to know what is coming. Ducking for cover only makes the rt-wing media types more likely to think they’re onto something . . . . . like Benghazi!!

You are holding her to a higher standard than all the others, most of whom would have been thoroughly destroyed by now. There’s really not much more she can say at this point. People seem to think she can “just come clean” and put an end to this. Well, no, this is politics and it isn’t going to go away because her opponents don’t want it to go away. That’s all there is to it. It just has to run its course.

NBC News reported earlier Tuesday that the FBI was confident it could retrieve some information from the server despite an apparent attempt to wipe the server clean, citing two anonymous sources familiar with the process.

Yeah, well, the Anonymous league appears to be in very high demand these days where Hillary is concerned. And who would these anonymous sources be? GOP congressmen or their staff members perhaps. When a media outlet is constructing a presentation based on an established narrative and using “anonymous sources”, they can publish utter rubbish with impunity. If they are wrong, they can just cravenly “blame the government” as did NYT editor, Dean Baquet, just the other day.

And when this fake scandal collapses under the sheer weight of it’s anonymous sources, the media will move on to something like Mrs. Clinton’s expense account as SOS or perhaps an anonymous source will inform them of an affair between Mrs. Clinton and Chuck Schumer.

We deserve better from the 4th estate.

If that’s all she said, it would be bad. But she explained this for 10 minutes to this little twerp Ed. So she deserves to throw a little snark back at him. Good for her. For the record, when I first heard this news of how Hillary maintained her emails while being SoS, I was flabbergasted, and was sure this is going to come back and bite her. But you know what, enough. If the State or Justice has no issues with her, it’s good for me. Republicans can go suck it.

It’s amazing Sec. Clinton speaks to these guys much less that she is also courteous to them. She makes a good point…only they they seemed concerned with it.

For those that may not be familiar with the term “wiping” or “government wiping” a drive is different than deleting the files on it. When you delete all you do is make the space available to be written over by another file. It’s still there. Anyone with recovery software ( you can get it free all over the internet ) can recover deleted files. Even if they’ve been partially written over. But when you wipe the file you destroy it’s magnetic presence on the disk material or you write over it, usually a stream of “X”'s and “O”'s and do that again and again until there is no way to get the original embed back.

So you wipe if you want nothing recovered. The medias use of the term where it is not deserved is a form of lying.

OH PLEEZZZ, it has been three years of “investigations”, congressional subcommittees, briefings, etc., if the bagger clowns had anything, at all, it would have hit the press way before now. Issa would have been ejaculating to it, years ago.

Glad you “think”. I believe Powell had his own, personal, server.

Due to the technology timeline, those who did will be limited to only a few, the numbers of which would suggest you should reword your “question”?

Glad you “believe”. Colin Powell had a personal email account, not his own server.

The problem is there is NO 4th estate anymore.

Most media is just another “arm” of the gop party. They get their talking points directly from the rnc. And they run with them.

So his personal email account was on a public (like gmail, msn, etc.,) server…yeah, that’s better.

This is about retrospective classification decisions for FOIA purposes of emails that were not classified when Clinton sent, received, or forwarded them.

Did I say “better”? A claim was made, I rebutted.

I don’t think there’s anything there. What I said is that having a personal server outside of State’s protocols raises the probability that something could happen- like leaking classified info. Why take the risk? Security protocols are in a closed system for a reason.

Ed Henry wasn’t so concerned about classified leaks when his colleague James Rosen was inciting Stephen Kim to commit a felony.

Thing is , even if the FBI clears her, the medias then going to suggest or insinuate she “lied”. By then it may be too late

I don’t think this sticks. It’s too in the weeds for most people. The vast majority of the people who care weren’t going to vote for her anyway. She’s polling above or right near 50 in most general election matchups with the Republican field. Unless she really screws the pooch and something more than hasn’t come out breaks, she should be okay.
