As a woman, I have loved Hillary since I first became aware of her as First Lady.

The grace she showed when the Republican, insecure, misogynist vulchers came after her, through the grace she showed while publicly dealing with a cheating husband, the endless witch hunts from Whitewater to the current emails, show a fighter with endless strength.

This note to “Toast”, sums up her leadership among women and her admiration and support for other women. If someone would take the time, they would see a life dedicated to other women with focus on children. Her national and global reach are a phenomenal.

When they come after her, email non issue…we rise up to support her. I know there are millions out there like me, and we are growing with each accomplishment that we share in- recent scotus victory, first female president, fight for reproductive rights and insurance coverage…-endurance thru yet another nonscandal-email- that she is forced to endure.

Not that I know anything (puts me on par with cable) but isn’t it worth considering this canned hooha from the usual suspects involves an Atty General with an unblemished reputation and a former President, kismet in a public place or the usual, fun and profitable darker hints and magic rabbits? Even the media’s, 'it wasn’t very smart" line pales when one considers the vindictive, petty source.
Magically, this yummy pundit sausage popped out of the Easy Bake right on cue…

Okay. But It’ll be at the top of the trumpgenda at the group he’s speaking to today which will get massive coverage. And so far Lynch’s speaking without saying anything.

I thought she just said she’s not, to coin a phrase, The Decider.
And, I totally understand the nervousness in some quarters, specially when one considers the record and how frequently Republican Attorneys General and Presidents have winked, to say the least, at their judicial and fiduciary responsibilities, but Democratic holders of these offices haven’t a record of straying in these areas.

Totally above and beyond any merits of any cases - you’re the Director of the FBI. Do you want to be the guy who arrests one of the two major party candidates for President? Do you want to go down as the cop who most blatantly put his thumb on the scale of a national election? Do you think for one moment the entire world won’t be watching that, on a level not seen since Bush v. Gore?

How can you, or any successor, claim the DoJ isn’t politicized, after that? Even if you’re just acting on the merits of the case, nobody believes it. You’ve got an instant political and social uproar. You’ve likely made someone into a martyr, and you’ve definitely made the entire DoJ into the goat. The public trust in the institution is gone. You may well have a vendetta from one of the two parties that’s gonna heavily influence your funding. And for what?

Not saying it can’t happen, but if you’ll pardon the language, I’d be extremely surprised if the FBI recommends sticking its own dick in that blender.

Meh. It didn’t move my blood pressure one bit. The press wanted to make a thing out of Bill speaking with her yesterday, so she said what is a totally obvious statement the next day. Of course the AG is going to take the recommendations from the FBI.

But the reality is, there is not criminal investigation into Hillary. She has broken no law…we have had numerous reports of that, including the much ballyhooed IG report which concluded…Hillary broke no laws.

There is still no there, there. It’s an internal squabble between State and Intelligence over emails marked secret after the fact. But because its Hillary and because the GOP is so desperate, every piece of the minutia gets played out to glaring headlines and insinuations.

The FBI is going to conclude that no laws were broken, but that running your own email server is a bad idea for any cabinet member. And the RWNJs will scream conspiracy. Lynch is just making this statement to stamp out one of their absurd talking points preemptively.

Hit the nail right on the head – the AG (who, as far as I can tell, is a woman of impeccable integrity), is being forced to state the obvious because the GOP TeaTwerps see conspiracy theories as a basic part of their vocabulary. To repeat – there is NO criminal investigation into Hilary, no evidence she did anything illegal and no evidence her private server was hacked. The FBI will come back with its report to that effect, and Trey Gowdy will have an entire Denver omelette on his suit (and on that stupid fake cool hairdo). Don’t fret-- Our Woman has this.

Okay, kids, I’ve been sufficiently reassured and calmed down. Now if I could just get someone to pry my hand off the Xanax bottle, peace will be restored chez blue.

The Toast was the best, hilarious and unapologetically smart and feminist. This makes me more enthusiastic about voting for Hillary.

My favorite, from the archives: http://the-toast.net/2014/09/26/ayn-rands-buffy-vampire-slayer/

Umm, why are they shuttering? Did I miss it?

Are they toast? Sorry.

I suspect that this was an easy call for the Attorney General. If she knows the investigation is going nowhere, and she has presumably been kept up to date on its [lack of] progress, then she can easily feel comfortable in announcing so quickly that she will support its recommendations.

I’m a little worried, only because the GOP is so good at faux outrage, and they will latch onto this like a tick. I do think it is extremely obvious to anyone with a brain that if Bill Clinton wanted to twist her arm he would not do it in such a public way.

I’ll bet Hillary would like to strangle him, though – and I don’t blame her. He ought to be thinking three steps ahead at this point.

But all that said, why is this report taking so effing long? Surely they have all the information they need to make a decision. Getting so close to the conventions, etc; they really need to finalize this (and yes, exonerate her).

What galls me even more than Bill’s non-thinking is the absolute glee of the Bernie or Busters.

I’m one of those people who is discovering The Toast too late. Glad their archives will be open for all time. Mon Dieu! The commentary on art and monks. I’ll have to do some deeper reading to get the full meaning of Witchy, or Witching or whatever the obviously-insider re-definition of forms of the word witch.

It so happens I have a Coppola Sauvignon Blanc in the fridge. That might work. Her team will have to rein him in if the burn from this close call of this episode doesn’t. Agreed this investigation should have been wrapped up a long time when people first discovered there was so little there there. Maybe it’s an abundance of caution so as not to show partisanship.

I wish Bill would think of optics before he steps into it again. He should but doesn’t know better. This was innocent but it gives GOP unnecessary material Hillary doesn’t need.
