Discussion for article #243243
“…weapons of war…” Excellent.
And still, not a single GOPer has made a statement. Well, about the shooting anyway. Rubio tweeted out an ad to buy more of his campaign chachka, Carson made a statement about keeping refugees in the Middle East, and Trump tweeted out about how great his numbers are a what a loser the NYT’s is.
I think that, more than anything, says everything about this years choices.
It’s always too soon for a Republican to propose a remedy to constant mass shootings. On the bright side of Republican affairs however, it’s a great day to start a war somewhere.
How can they possibly say they can’t determine a motive? He is a white right wing christian crazy motherfucker who thinks he has the right to terrorize clinics and doctors who provide abortion. And why isn;t there 24/7 coverage of this like they did with the Paris attack. How is this any fucking different?
GOTP candidates are very busy keeping scary woman and child refugees from imposing Sharia on their supporters. There’s no jump in the polls from weighing in on domestic white terrorists.
Wonder if the GOP is going to introduce legislation to suggest we keep a database of white Christians after this terrorist attack.
I totally agree with you; but not to belabour the obvious, it’s a fairly routine event here…and we don’t want to peer too closely into that mirror, do we now, hmmmm?
The sound of crickets from the Right is telling.
- The GOP cannot win without the Base
- The passions of the Base dovetail quite nicely with Colorado
- No announcements from the GOP dealing with this matter other than to blame the wrong people
When will Rep. Jason Chaffetz, call the shooter to testify at the hearings? Of course, they will give him total immunity so they can find the truth.
Crickets? Worse. It was a bank robbery gone bad, he only ran to PP to escape, etc. .says a ton of them. Now it’s other mass murderers were really liberals, crap.
The Ted 's slow on the uptake. When he finally realizes there’s an ‘event’ , rephrases what Bernie tweeted 11 hours before.
That was a meme CNN was pushing hard yesterday, and was completely baseless from the beginning. The only thing factoids that involved the bank was A) some of the people fleeing the shooting ran to the bank and B) it was in the vicinity.
CNN totally ignored the actual reporting on the ground in their desperate attempt to make it palatable to the anti-abortion crowd; the PD received the call from the PP office, and every witness reported the shooting starting in the PP parking lot. Even after the spokeswoman from the bank came out and said there was no robbery, CNN was still trying to float it as a possible motive.
Somebody in his campaign figured out that the complete silence from all the GOP candidates was causing as much damage as possibly being seen as supporting PP would, so they finally put out a vague message that they support the police.
Quite frankly, the fact that any campaign would be paralysed from making this statement is shocking. They should have this sort of thing written up in boilerplate in today’s world, given how many shootings we have in this country, and pop it out within minutes of the shooting being resolved.
Sadly, this is today’s version of “I love mom, baseball and apple pie. And puppies are cute”
At least, Teddy didn’t offer heart, thoughts and prayers ------
Where aren’t the Republican candidates demanding that we put a stop to radical Christian terrorism?
And at least Jindal no longer sees any reason to open his pander-hole and make all decent human beings sick to their stomachs.
Well what are you waiting for? A barrage of “our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families” ? That’s all you’re going to get. It’s knee jerk…its insincere and of course none of them have any real sentiments for these people.
He offered a derivative of it with the added political prank or showering love on the police.
Hard to decide which of these, coming from him, would be most meaningless.
