Whatever else Lindsay Graham is, and he is a lot of unpleasant things, he is neither a bigot nor a Trump supporter. I imagine the quote your posted, if it was real, was said in sarcasm, as are most of the things Graham has said since he dropped out of the presidential race.

One thing I will NOT speak of is some bullshit that a “small number of students” diminishes in any way what this means, for the locality, the state and the country (all regions of the country included)
Actually, I do believe a real conversation has to be had with these white folks who know their country is changing and are scared to death (poor white folks). Most of them vote based on their fears and listen to right wing talk radio and Fox so they have not a clue. Somehow at some point, there needs ro be a national conversation schooling these folks about celebrating our differences and realizing we are all in this together rather than against each other. I realize that it is not an easy task, but it has to be done. These folks are angry but they are angry at the wrong people. They should be angry at their own party who are so hell bent in shutting down the government rather than do the things necessary to get this country back on its feet where it helps the average joe. But when you listen to lies all day, it’s difficult.

Chammy, I think about what you have just said often…and I remember a feature that some German TV stations used to use 50+ years ago. They would have protracted programming…and then show commercials in an allotted time.
“National dialogue” would probably have to overcome about 40% of the country immune to this…but even if they were not, this business of 5 minute snippets of conversation about ANYTHING, because of a requirement to get these guzzling commercialeers their blood money, KILLS anything really constructive. I have watched some interesting pieces on Lawrence’s show, but 50% of the time alloted to him is commercials.
They’re ultimately responsible.
