A similar event happened at a high school in the Des Moines, Iowa, area last week when students from a largely white school chanted Trump’s name after their basketball team lost to a more diverseschool.

This is true and I’ve seen it firsthand, but I still have hope they’re just going to become increasingly marginalized as history continues to roll past them. Think about the flip side - the kids chanting probably represent a small fraction of Andrean High (I sincerely hope), while all of Bishop Noll is going to have a very long lasting memory of this. The racists here just lit a fire under these kids.

No, they probably won’t die off. But they will become outnumbered and, eventually, irrelevant. Hard to be a serious white supremacist if you’re no longer a majority and you keep losing elections.

Yeah, in Indiana it’s still a thing to get upset and bitch about having to venture forth into the world and be denied the right to smoke in every venue you set foot. I think chain smoking in an enclosed vehicle with three toddlers strapped into their seats is recommended in some secret chapter of Dr. Spock’s Baby Book that only Hoosiers are given access to.

No, I don’t think they’re going to become “irrelevant” because these are the people who always vote. These people are not losing local and State elections. They vote in officials promising to make their hate effective in keeping down the recipients of that hate.

As an angry, middle-aged white man, I am glad to know that it is again okay for me to openly express my racism. Those PC years were marked by repressed feelings of racial animus. No more! Indiana might as well be in the South!! Our Governor is openly racist, he also wants to take the state back to about 1950

My question is where were both school authorities at the time, why didn’t they do the correct thing and stop the game

Don’t think the kids are not paying attention to what their parents are saying around the dinner table or when watching Fox. They are mirrors. Watch them make you proud Indiana. And give a special shout out to Mike Pence, serving as the Governor, which is a pretty high achievement for a wet rag.
