Discussion for article #246671
Keep it classy, Merrillville.
Racism is usually learned at home. The world outside the family can either encourage its expression or discourage it but it lies deep in the heart of kids.
Are we in “the south shall rise again” times?
THIS. I always roll my eyes whenever I hear some so called progressives say that eventually the old, racist guard will die off and then the younger generation will take over whose worldview is more diverse. The fact is, some older racists are passing on their legacy to younger racists who are accepting their venal visions as fact.
IS this a second school? Or a different story on the same school?
Looks like the brown eyes blue eyes experiment failed or is rerunning itself…
Maybe Drumpf could start a charter school where the Andrean students could focus on success instead of racism.
There would probably be some tuition costs for the parents but how can you put a price on a child’s future as a business leader?
THis is a second school doing this reprehensible crap. Here is a story about another school. The other school is in Iowa. Dallas Center-Grimes High School against Perry High.
Our children are watching what the GOP is doing and saying - it is not good.
Drumpf will say it isn’t his fault, it is the dam Andreas Fault that is dividing the country… sorry for the bad pun
Indiana. That’s a relief.
Whenever I read a headline like this–
I expect to find this is yet another racist diatribe
from some high school north of Dallas/Ft Worth.

So, Indiana and Iowa are in the south, now?
Along with Wyoming and Oregon: the country is bookended (as it were) by two regions of utter hopelessness.
By the mid-20s, the Indiana Klan’s membership numbered more than 250,000 (almost 30% of all white “native-born” male citizens were Klansmen), and by 1925, half the state’s General Assembly, as well as the Governor (Edward Jackson) and the Attorney General belonged to the organization.
Racism is in the DNA of the state.
“…when students from a largely white school chanted Trump’s name after their basketball team lost to a more diverse school.”
I’d suggest boxing out more effectively, hitting your foul shots, and not turning the ball over, but then that’s more work and less fun than chanting Trump’s name I guess.
In a way, I am happy with this story, when I look at Texas Latino Republicans supporting Trump. Back at 'cha. Latino assholes are just like A-A assholes…they think $$$$ or a job slot or some other “gancho” gets them “acceptable” to bigoted whites.
The only whites I entertain or grace with my company or communication are those who think I am a human being.
But my “villain” on this is the CBS CEO thrilled with the money Trump has brought in to his “news” (read: entertainment) ledger.
Actually, growing up in that milieu, I found you might get some ideas from your parents, but it’s when your peers start expressing those ideas that you really start acting on them.
Sure, that sounds reasonable but it’s clear that Obama fixed the game in favor of the racially diverse school.
Because brown children
Yes, peer pressure has a role too.
TRUMP:
Hispanics: “Build a wall!”
Muslims: “Database!”
KKK: “Wait! don’t pass judgement on a whole group without knowing all the facts.”
