Discussion: Hawaii Senator: False Alarm Of Incoming Missile Was 'Totally Inexcusable'

Wonderful.

But in the Trump era of diplomacy, there was better than a 50:50 chance of incoming NorKo missiles. Or Chinese. Or Russian. Or Mexican. or Norwegian. etc. etc. etc.

Yeah, I heard that the Norwegians send only their best…

Wow – that’s a pretty big fuck-up.

Needlessly terrorizing everyone is, of course, a big part of why it’s so bad.

But on top of that, false alarms may cause people to (at least initially) ignore such alerts in the event of a real emergency. In other words, the boy-who-cried-wolf problem.

Everyone in the know is well aware the real danger is Namibia.

Well this has been slightly terrifying.

This never would have happened if not for the deliberate global destabilization agenda introduced by the President of the United States … as he puts into action what he has learned from the President of Russia. We’re entering into a new Cold War, with 90% of the world lining up against us … or mainly against HIM!

Guess it’s a good thing most of those “shithole” countries don’t have nuclear arms.

The false alarm in Hawaii exposes real problems, no doubt. But they are connected to a larger problem that needs our immediate attention and concerted effort as well.

As we have seen, Trump loves setting real fires in our midst, but America is a great idea that has never lived in his head. An idea that has brought down tyrants will make ashes of his pettiness and his Republican enablers, if we arise to defend it.

No false alarm from so many excellent thoughtful analysts across the political spectrum. Trump is an incoming threat we must knock out of the skies with the patriot missiles of our voices and votes. Ready, aim, fire!

Well, not quite everyone. Trump thinks it’s Nambia.

Am I veering into tinfoil hat territory to question how/why this accidental terror alarm happened in 1) the bluest of blue states and 2) the birthplace of Obama?

Because this feels exactly like the sort of distraction an unstable so-called leader might let loose to distract while serving the dual purpose of instilling fear in, let’s call them, non-base of voters.

It’s the Early Warning System under Trumpk—Scare the bejesus out of everyone on Hawaii, then wonder: 1.Why everyone gets upset 2. What’s the big deal—it’s only a word, more words, fake news. 3. Why can’t the DOD do an unannounced test run. 4. What if it IS the real thing created under Trumpk’s perverted “Big-Button Doctrine.” 5. Blame it on NK as a pretext. 6. Blame it on Obama (even though the “Birthers” believe Obama wasn’t…)

When we learn it is a good thing that the president plays lots of golf.

More to the point, he doesn’t seem to have been interrupted. Or maybe, even worse, he was - and didn’t care.

My needle stays on terrified. Trump gives us the gift of a terror a day.

Who knows? Maybe semi-sane people in the White House blocked Trump’s access to the nuclear codes. Still, if they have, it’s a coup. It’s the way we live now.

O/T – but Trey Gowdy resigned from the House Ethics Committee this week.
