What a lying sack of garbage is Grassley. No, there is no rule like that. Todays conservative thugs truly know how to frame an issue and get every uncareful listener back on their page. So don’t the Democrats as a whole, starting with this discussion column, have a responsibility to make a statement representing our values and the truth and thus attempt to change the narrative???

My God, you can’t expect things to be different using the same old bullshit language coined and enshrined by the 50 years of work the right has put in. Speaking of pathetic.

It’s the responsibility of the sitting president to appoint SCOTUS judges with the advice and consent of the Senate. Period.

OMG Trump won’t agree? Wow Chuck! Who saw that coming?

Calling it the ā€œBiden Ruleā€ was a conjured-up way of justifying something both unprecedented and ruthlessly unethical - in other words the typical Republican way of doing things. Withholding President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee was, I would argue, grossly illegal given that the Senate is constitutionally required to do what the hell it was elected to do. The stolen seat rightfully belongs to Merrick Garland and that is not going to change, no matter what an old codger like Grassley says.

This reminds me of another thing Charlie Dent tried to claim about both sides supporting their president.

McConnell kept Garland in limbo, refusing allow a vote on Merrick Garland. Then once Trump was in, he and Ryan refusing to bring a vote on issues like DACA.

No, Charlie. Not the same AT ALL.

Hey! Go easy on him!

You can’t seriously expect him to understand the finer points of The Constitution, can you?

So, Republicans can’t work with Democrats. And, Republicans can’t work with each other. If voters want to understand the source of congressional gridlock, this should clarify the issue. Thanks Grassley!

So don’t worry about retiring early Liberal justices. We won’t fill your seat with some alt-right Nazi. Really.

And I am totally not lying or anything.

2018 is not just an antiTrump election, it is an antiGOP election.

I happen to have a bridge for sale here if you would like to buy anything - and that’s anything at all that grassley has to say.

Dem voters know Repubs are full of shit. Repub voters watch Fox News and believe the utter lies. So therefore Repubs having all house and Pres control and still gridlock… CLEARLY it is the Dems fault. No matter what.

It’s also not a rule because it is applied on a case by case basis.

And the irony meter is pegged once again. Grassley plays the good Republican by stating that he’ll remain consistent and true to the make-believe Biden Rule, while he insists that McConnell the bad guy will provide advice and consent as he should have with Garland in accordance with the Constitution.

This insane and unhinged party needs to go the way of the Whigs

White always mates…

He examined the chess problem and set out the pieces. It was a tricky ending, involving a couple of knights.
ā€˜White to play and mate in two moves.’

Winston looked up at the portrait of Big Brother. White always mates, he thought with a sort of cloudy mysticism. Always, without exception, it is so arranged. In no chess problem since the beginning of the world has black ever won. Did it not symbolize the eternal, unvarying triumph of Good over Evil? The huge face gazed back at him, full of calm power. White always mates.

Stop reporting GOP propaganda. The Biden rule was about judges intentionally moving up their retirement because they feared their party would lose an election. Just because a person misquotes something doesn’t mean you have to report their misinformation.

We have an election every 2 years. If even midterm elections are included in this bogus ā€œBiden ruleā€, and this election could turn the tide as much as any presidential election, then a Supreme court nominee would only be able to be named half the time, That directly counters Constitutional intention for the process.
Even so if the repubs would stick to it no matter the circumstances, it might fly. But what suited them for outgoing President Obama does not suit them when the shoe is on the right foot.

Shorter Grassley: ā€œI would behave consistently with my asshole colleagues, but I have no balls.ā€
