Q: What investigative tools does the DOJ have that they can withhold from the FBI?
A: None. It’s just Grassley being his usual dick self.

Grassley also suggested that the Justice Department may have withheld investigative tools from the FBI, undermining its ability to investigate Clinton’s server

Grassley: I am disappointed that FBI did not ask for Putin’s help. WikiLeaks alone would have been sufficient to indict, charge and imprison Hillary.

Maybe the DOJ just wanted to wait until after the lame duck period to do work, that seems to be the case for Grassley.

Do you see the pivot? Do you? As Cummings said: he warned Comey that the GOP/Teatrolls in Congress would now come after him and the FBI for not bringing charges against Clinton. Suddenly, Comey is releasing a vague, non-informative letter announcing to Congress that additional emails were found…which anyone with a brain in their head knows are just going to be duplicates…and, in response, Grassley’s writing a letter that sounds like a precursor to a massive Conrgessional witch-hunt for DOJ corruption under Obama that “protected” Clinton from the FBI by preventing the FBI from doing its job?

Nice deflect, Comey…have any help with this one, did ya?

Director Comey,
Congratulations on your preemptive move to avoid pressure from Congress. That appears to be working out well.

Remember when private citizen Bill Clinton had a conversation with his friend the Attorney General, and people went absolutely apeshit. Now it is obvious that Republican members of congress are actively browbeating the FBI and DOJ (over whom they hold enormous power) to alter the results of their investigations to reach their politically preferred outcome. How is this not rank obstruction of Justice.

So politically motivated members of the FBI are telling Grassley they can’t use broad subpoena power however they want to turn this dead-end investigation into a wide-ranging witch hunt, and Grassley dutifully passes it on.

This situation is FUBAR

It is definitely rank obstruction of justice, and voters in almost 40% of House districts will vote their complaints.

I’m sticking with it. They are pivoting away from “investigating the investigation” conducted by the FBI to a witch-hunt on DOJ. The blame is all going to get pointed at a giant DOJ conspiracy. Faux News is already ramping up the narrative in their list of top articles and Grassley’s loaded questions fit right in with that:
