Discussion for article #246408
Grassley is just a Repulsive Party hack, who hopefully will decorate a DC lamppost after Jan 20th.
Silence = approval. Start decorating the new justice’s office.
I am utterly disgusted and just freakin’ PISSED OFF at the disrespect these aholes show the Presidency. Whining for 7+ years about how Obama! won’t come to THEM and all the while (just as was alleged) it is THEY that caused the gridlock, hate and obstruction in this country. ‘Values’??? BS.
Once again Grassley shows his true colors. I for one will work for his replacement. Democrats, independents and reasonable Republicans it is time to act!
As a note of interest, one of the republican state senators is strongly considering primaring Steve King. This could be a good year here in iowa.
Grassley spokeswoman Beth Levine said her office received the invitation for the Oval Office meeting and it was still “under consideration.”
Keep it up, GOP. You’re going to do great in November.
just a thought with not enough caffeine… can the President sue the Senate for not doing its job? Congress sues the President often enough when it doesn’t like the job he’s doing…
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has yet to respond to an invitation for a “consultative” meeting with President Barack Obama about the Supreme Court vacancy left by the late Justice Antonin Scalia, The Des Moines Register reported late Tuesday.
There’s no reason for Grassley to respond; the Republicans consider the Oval Office to be vacant.
Obama is moving his pieces across the board and Grassley and the other Republicans are holding on tightly to their pawns thinking they can win the match that way. Bobby Fischer, they ain’t.
Remember when it was just a matter of President having a beer or meal with the Senate, said the ‘both-sides-dot-it’ DC Pundit class?
F**K You Ron Fournier.
That’s what I say. Sue the bastards!
WE the tax payers foot the bill for the crybaby’s continual lawsuits.
It’s time for the POTUS to do the same! Turnaround is fair play!
OR, these clowns only work two days a week. Make a recess appointment and tell them to go shove it!

In other words … “Is the President still black?”
I knew a conservative white family years ago. A daughter married a black man. The parents were privately very upset and confused, but outwardly they at least tried to offer a modicum of acceptance and civility when he was around or being talked about. Unfortunately, for reasons unrelated to any family dynamics associated with the parents, the marriage failed. The moment it was in the open the black man was on his way out the door all bets were off. The bigotry, hatred, fears and frustrations came out. Thoughts and words withheld for years were revealed. It was like a weight was lifted, Mom and Dad were finally fully free to let their Klan flag fly.
I think a similar dynamic is playing out in Obama’s final year in office. The divorce papers have been filed. everyone knows he’s moving out of the house soon. There’s no reason to be civil or polite anymore.
Ah, but little do they realize (daft are they) that he will be taking a number of them with him!
I sense that the petard by which the the Senate Republicans will be hoisted is already in their hands and, unlike King Arthur and his Knights wielding the holy hand grenade of Antioch, they have not consulted St. Atilla and The Book of Armaments 2: 9-21.
According to conservative media, the biggest problem the country faces is that Obama is a dictator and if he just reached out to the other side, everything would be great. They claim the GOP are the ones being reasonable and Obama is the one who is refusing to meet with them.
Hopefully this latest episode will be the one that finally wakes people up, especially the “centrist” media, that this is not a both-sides-do-it issue.

Never keep the President Waiting. This is going to backfire spectacularly. A walk to the Hill moment, like the one in the West Wing clip I’ve linked, might be a good way to highlight GOP intransigence at some point if this GOP clown show over SCOTUS continues.
More Republican establishment obstructionism and disfunctionism: no wonder people are voting for a non-establishment candidate, i.e., Donald Trump. LOL
Grassley (R-IA) has yet to respond
But he’s ready to dish about Nino’s boyfriend…
"is this the legacy he wants?”
Yes. If you offered to put “Proudly Defied First N—r President” on his tombstone he’d thank you kindly but tell you he already chose “Put President Darky in His Place.”
Next Question.
