Notice that republicans are not insisting that Trump stop being a racist. They insist only that he stop openly talking like a racist.
the only test for a jdge that really counts is whether we think the President is the proper one to make the choiceâŚ
Grassley: âYou canât have a religious or ethnic test to be a judge in America.â
âYou can only apply an ethnic test to the President, and this one fails, so no SCOTUS pick for him.â
If being a gibbering, psychotic misanthrope could be an ethnicity, then Iâm highly prejudiced against that one. Burn a crâŚno, a Cthulhu in Drumpfâs yard!
Even when it comes to the âethnicityâ of the President nominating the judge to say⌠the SCOTUS?
That tone deaf mf
Sigh
And heâs still voting for Trump.
Voting for him? Heâs still holding a Supreme Court seat open that he hopes Trump will fill.
The GOP is finding it hard to get rid of the bombâŚ
Drumpf: âThe âbrownsâ love me but they donât love my wall. Thatâs suspicious. Weâve made a color card and if you âcoloredsâ are darker than a certain shade, you wonât get on the court. If youâre orange, thatâs classy. Earth tones arenât classy.â
So Grassley dips his pinky in the fetid water surrounding Trump and blathers.
To think Harkin was the one who retired is just sad.
Iâll bet heâs enjoying this though.
âWell, I surely disagree with Mr. Trump on that point, and you canât have a religious or ethnic test to be a judge in America. Thatâs only for that Kenyan in the White House.â
All theyâre asking is that he just act like a normal Republican.
Grassley, who noted that he supported Curielâs nomination to the bench, said a person should go through the motions to get a judge removed if he or she thinks that judge is unfair.
Good advice. Maybe you should go through the motions to get a judge approved instead of sitting on your a$$ stealing a paycheck.
So now trump said MORE about the judge when he said he would not? Welp that lasted all of about 2 hours.
I bet the farm and won.
Didnât little Marco say the exact same thing earlier today? So whoâs trumping who on the religious & ethnicity test comment?
Thereâs been several articles about the various responses that the members of the House and Senate have made in the light of Trumps racist remarks about Judge Curiel.
As others have pointed out, the big problem for many, maybe all these folks, is that Trump has blown their cover. Trump is just the most abnormal (currently, who knows what the future may bring) and notoriously visible face on an abnormal political party. Which bring us back to Norm Orntein and Thomas Mannâs oft quoted passage:
The Republican Party has become an insurgent outlier â ideologically extreme; contemptuous of the inherited social and economic policy regime; scornful of compromise; unpersuaded by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.
So, to me, it really doesnât matter whether or not Sen.X or Congressperson Y will or wonât vote for, or will or wonât support Trump, they are STILL members of a roque political party that is a grave danger to this country and this planet.
