Ouch.
That’s going to leave a mark.
Poor KKKobach. Everyone is against him, Tis a conspiracy! A CONSPIRACY, I say!
Well, truth be told, if a maniac is trying to burn down your village, then sure, everyone will be against you, except for the arsonists, TeaBuggerers, NeoCons and conservo-Christianists who love large fires.
KKKris KKKobach is just that sort.
Its about time that someone tries to hold Kobach accountable for his outrageous efforts to suppress minority and Democratic votes.
For years, Dude has been posturing for a big takedown. Perhaps this is how it begins?
Why, I do believe the white supremacist chickens are finally coming home to roost!
This won’t exactly be good in respect to his attempt to win the Governorship in November.
Good.
Excellent timing.
Democracy in Action!
Coincidentally, something Kobach hates…
The more interesting question, I think, is who, precisely, is now tasked with running this grand jury? If it’s a Kobach ally, this will come to naught.
Yeah, it tolls for thee, motherfucker.
To what extent can the members of the grand jury determine its course of action?
And, what is the current mood of potential members of such a grand jury?
This is somewhat fascinating. According to the story, only six states have ‘grand jury by petition’. Apparently, it was common up until the end of he 19th Century before most states moved to public prosecutors.
The process is outlined in the Kansas Code of Criminal Procedure. You can find details here:
http://www.kscoplaw.com/crimprocode/Ch22Art30GrandJuries.htm
This Grand Jury has very independent powers:
“Kobach himself, who is now the Republican nominee for governor, has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated.”
NO SHIT, MORON.
Ah well, he could always go teach at Regent U. law school.
Probably not, if he gets disbarred, which looks more likely all the time.
Did he win the primary? I hadn’t heard.
And this is how it should be, a citizen petition for a grand jury. When one party has dominate control, since forever, then this what checks and balances look like.
Does anyone know which other 5 states allow citizen-initiated grand jury inquiries?
Barely, by 343 votes in 487,000.
O that doesn’t look suspicious, winning by 343 votes.
