I love Patagonia and the lady who opened her house and property for birders to use.
When the Paton’s died, eventually Tucson Audubon and 2 other organizations bought the property and it’s only gotten better, lots of native plants. That property is the #1 spot for birders in SE AZ from all over the world.
And, a shout out to Tucson Audubon, best organization ever including birding surveys.
Ah Linds…going all Gang of Eight on us again…NO YOU MISERABLE CRETIN. You don’t get to try and go all mean boy and then ‘gather the moderates’ like you’re some kind of reasonable human being. You’ve SHOWED what a POS you are. I’m sick of the lot of you.
Those three PLUS require a 60 vote threshold on the next SC justice.
I’m beginning to suspect McConnell is sticking it to Trump for humiliating him last month. You notice McConnell had nothing (literally, by all reports) to say in yesterday’s negotiation/meeting. And he has ceased attending press briefings. I think he’s saying to Trump, ‘I can be the one who takes you off these horns but you’re going to have to ask me.’
Possible. Willing to bet he’s not overfond of Trump, that’s for sure. I have a hard time walking in his moccasins, because that kind of rabid single-mindedness mystifies me, but I know he’s ice-cold and the instant Trump is fundamentally more liability than asset, pow, he’s gone. McConnell hasn’t propped him up so far out of warm-heartedness.
So I guess Graham is the de-facto head of the Republican party now…?
“There’s a way to get what the President wants and do the least amount of damage to the country as possible,”
That is an extraordinary statement. It acknowledges that there will be some kind of damage to the country to get the “president” what it wants. What a clown.
Yup, you got it.
You can’t figure out what you don’t want to know.
Because this is one guy who should never get the benefit of the doubt, I read it as implying that anything the Dems could agree to, would be something that damages the country. Like better health care or something. And he only wanted whatever the Dems got to be minimal, causing the least amount of damage.
The smart money is on Republicans who wake up and realize that humiliating the President is the best option for appealing the moderates and independents they are losing by the bus-load.
It’s also good fun…
Granted that that PREPA’s procurement process was as incompetent as its operation prior to Maria and Irma, it turned out that Whitefish Energy actually performed faster and at lower cost than the vendors hired subsequent to the cancellation of the WE contract. Whitefish Energy was unfairly painted as a corrupt scam, when the truth of the matter is they were honest and capable of mounting a rapid and effective logistical response to the emergency. They weren’t perfect - they got scammed by some of the vendors they hired for logistical support, and piggybacking on their hometown relationship with Zinke to get a foot in the door bit them in the ass. Bottom line - they were the firstest with the mostest at the least cost compared to the competition at the time, they performed as promised and they still have not been paid in full for their work.

If he cared, he would move for all the laws that 45* has broken to be enforced. He knows, they know, and we know that this presidency has severely damaged the country.
Snapping turtles are fearsome, cold-blooded predators. Trump is a lost duckling swimming in circles crying peep-peep-peep. Cue the shark theme from Jaws.
No. Make him walk.
Now that is a winning arguml.ent for Dems: “Mr. President, we think the American people would rather have healthcare for all, than a wall. Use the money for that.”
do the least amount of damage to the country as possible
The best way to minimize damage to the country and maximize the positive good for the country is to maximize the damage to the repulican party. Not snarking here. I sincerely believe this.
Wasn’t this the same SOB that publicly told the president to stand firm or his president would end? I guess Ms Lindsey has a hard time establishing on what side of many issues s/he is.
He still wants the president to stand firm, and get the whole 5.7 billion earmarked for the wall. Any concessions to the Dems are on top of that deal.
This is just a stalling tactic to make it look like the R’s in the Senate are actually doing their job. Play acting and grandstanding for the TV cameras.
