Discussion: Gowdy To GOP Colleagues: Mueller Is 'Fair' So 'Leave Him The Hell Alone'

“I think he’s got a fair prosecutor in Bob Mueller, but he doesn’t have a fair jury,” Gowdy said, referring to Democratic members of Congress and in particular Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee.

Had no idea that Dems were the jury for Mueller’s investigation. I’ve always seen them as a much needed counterbalance to tRump mini-mes such as Nunes.

I wonder if these guys know something we don’t and are anxious to hedge their bets on the record…

The House of Representatives are the prosecutors. The Senate is the jury. Not the Democrats. You forget that, Representative Fuckface McCrazyhair. Some of the business you people are charged with taking up transcends the partisan warfare you’re so consumed by. You took an oath about it. But thanks for going as far as you did. Partial credit.

I’d be hedging, if I were they, knowing what I do know. I’ve been reading all along that privately they’re freaking out. But they must still think there’s some salvage work they can do ahead of the crash. Lemmings.

He and Graham are singing their Sunday school song today. But Kevin McCarthy was as obtuse as ever on Meet the Press this morning.

mostly agree, but I’d give a C- instead of the D+, he’s in essence saying the house will be dems SOON.

As shocking as it is to type these words, Gowdy made several very good points:

(1) About Mueller’s fairness,

(2) That Mueller didn’t go looking for this job, he was selected (by a Trump appointee), and

(3) That in addition to the issues of collusion and obstruction, there’s the important matter of getting a full account of all the steps Putin took to influence our election, including those that don’t amount to criminal offenses involving Americans.

Wow, it seems to me Howdy Gowdy has an indictment in his immediate future, so he’s trying to suck up…

“…Democratic members of Congress and in particular Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member
next chairman of the House Intelligence Committee."

Fixed.

They have a critical timing issue that they can’t control. Hedging gives them cover if Mueller does not release his findings until after the 2018 midterms. In that case they can continue to stroke the DT supporters then be shocked at the findings but say the system they supported worked as intended. If Mueller releases his findings before the midterms all the hedging in the world isn’t going to help because the DT diehards won’t carry too many state wide races.

“There is a criminal component. But there’s also a counterintelligence component that no one ever talks about because it’s not sexy and interesting.

So…knowing Russia will interfere in our elections again and again until we take significant proactive measures, does this mean Gowdy’s all in in fixing this problem? Or just more crickets like the rest of his Party?

Agreed.

And I sure wouldn’t mind some more Republicans on the “Leave Mueller the hell alone” wagon.

(even if they can’t keep themselves from taking pot shots at Dems while doing so)

“Fair” is cold comfort when you’re guilty of taking Russian money.

This guy, Gowdy, is bi-polar…changes his mind daily, depending on who he’s talking to.

I’d be heartened by this, if I trusted him.

"I told my Republican colleagues, leave him the hell alone, and that’s still my advice.”

Trey Gowdy for President!
