He’s quite the actor. Must have been those two times on “Forensic Files” (where his accent was close to non-existent) that drove him to take his act on the national level.
Inveterate liar whose party is the father of it.

Yes. Gowdy is realizing his butt is on the line, as well, when T rump goes down. He’s trying to play nice to the prosecutor in an attempt to minimize the public’s perception of his complicity. However, it’s too late for that. He’s milk toast.
Just like t rump
Gowdy’s only claim to fame is going to be that the otherwise completely forgettable Benghazi/E-mail crap actually managed to prevent Clinton’s election, and that is almost entirely Comey’s work. Gowdy is thus heavily invested in Comey’s reputation, and thereby Mueller’s.
Gowdy can’t be the Jesus of Benghazi/E-mails because that’s Comey, but he can be the Voice Crying in the Wilderness of Benghazi/E-mails, and damn if he’s going to give that up. Comey just has to be some sort of Effing Messiah, or Gowdy is just another random dingbat wingnut, and God help us if Gowdy will ever admit to that reality.
“I think he’s got a fair prosecutor in Bob Mueller, but he doesn’t have a fair jury,” Gowdy said, referring to Democratic members of Congress and in particular Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee.
So says Benghazi Gowdy.
“I think he’s got a fair prosecutor in Bob Mueller…,” Gowdy said.
So, does this mean that he wouldn’t tolerate a dark-skinned prosecutor?
Well, for all his sins, and they are legion, it’s not the first time Gowdy has told his fellow Republicans to let Mueller finish the job.
Gowdy might have a pointy head but that doesn’t make him sharp.
“…leave him [Mueller] the hell alone.”
What! The Gowdy of semi-sound judgement? Where did he come from? If the congressman is concerned about intelligence and Russian interference in the election, Ranking Member Adam Schiff addresses the danger repeatedly. On the the other hand, “recused” Chairman Devin Nunes looks like a Putin puppet.
He is only saying this as a variant of the GOP chorus of why there is no need to pass legislation to insulate Robert Mueller from a Saturday Night Massacre at any moment in Donald Trump’s consciousness of guilt motivated public thrashing around, mood swings, and LYING. Michael Wolff was on Lawrence ODonnell the other night and said that Trump was constantly, daily expressing his anger and outrage over the appointment of the Special Counsel and scheming to fire him.
So yeah, Trey Gowdy appearing on FOX to say, “Gee, I done told my House Freedumb Caucus buddies to leave the guy alone…” is just another part of the GOP orchestration to prevent legislation in the immediate aftermath of learning that Donald Trump tried to have someone else fire Mueller in June, 2017.
Can’t touch Mueller without sound backlash, so go after The dems and Schiff.
He’s only happy with himself when he thinks he is screwing someone over for the sake of himself as intelligent, informed and future job offers. another words, a slimy worm.
You don’r have to be a weatherman …
This is mighty fascinating, although it reads kind of funny in places as it’s translated from Dutch.
Note how much invaluable real-time information AVID shared with American intelligence agencies, beginning in 2014, only to get burned by leaks to the press, making them skeptical about sharing certain information in the future.
Eh, I don’t need to be trusted to be heartened. His comments are still out in the ether and they still give Mueller just a teeny bit more credibility. That’s all I care about.
Never known for his intellectual smarts and situational awareness .
The kitty is obviously the smart one.
“He didn’t apply for the job. He’s where he is because we have an attorney general who had to recuse himself,” Gowdy said on “Fox News Sunday,” referring to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
So, is Gowdy saying that Sessions would not himself have appointed a special counsel, even after the Comey firing? Or that Sessions would have selected someone totally on Trump’s side? Either way, Trump would have had the protection of the AG that he thinks he’s entitled to (and which Gowdy would perhaps have been OK with).
Not a bad performance, Gowdy, but I’d be more impressed if you pushed the Trump administration to implement the sanctions on Russia that were enacted several months ago.
Or if you supported actions that secured Mueller’s position.
For a lesson in courage and responsible oversight, maybe you should take a page from Senator Diane Feinstein. As you may have heard, she recently contacted 17 associates of the Trump campaign, transition, and administration, requesting an interview before her committee and relevant documents.
