Discussion: Gov. Haley Breaks Down: ‘The Heart And Soul Of South Carolina Was Broken’

Discussion for article #237601

What has Donald Trump said ?

Crocodile tears. She has the presence of mind to put this in there,

" Parents are having to explain to their kids how they can go to church and feel safe and that’s not something we ever thought we’d deal with.”

Perfectly in line with the emerging right wing talking point on this event. It’s an attack on Christianity.

The real line should have been, “Parents are having to explain to their kids how they can’t feel safe anywhere in this state…because of the color of their skin. But that’s something we have been dealing with for hundreds of years down here”

Wouldn’t have gone over quite as well, though.

Did she ever admit this was a racially motivated hate crime or is this just about the church and christianity and prayer and holiness and white children who are now inexplicably afraid to go to their white churches?

They cry so easily when it suits them…

“You know we woke up today,” Haley said, before getting choked up, “and
the heart and soul of South Carolina was broken. And so we have some
grieving we have to do. And we’ve got some pain we have to go through.
Parents are having to explain to their kids how they can go to church
and feel safe and that’s not something we ever thought we’d deal with.”

You’re missing something there, Nikki.

Am I missing something in the Governor’s statement or did she admit she wasn’t aware of the situation until this morning when she awoke?

will she use this tragedy to announce she’s going to run for President and put an end these blatant attacks on Christianity?

He’s your fucking base, Nikkster.

She’s praying with her family. Just what we need, sanctimony from a pol with a civil rights crisis on her hands who signed the Constitutional Carry Act.

Trump has good relations with the blacks.

Also, as he’s master trolling the GOP, he’ll probably tread lightly on this one

Vice president.

Like I said: This little fuck is her base.

The right knows they have a huge problem on their hands from a PR perspective. So they are busily trying to create lemonade out of the lemon by attempting to turn the media coverage into a attack on Christianity.

It’s not. The shooters comments clearly indicate this was racially motivated. He just happened to pick a black church because he figured nobody would have a gun to shoot back at him. A black nursery school would probably have done just as well, but then he would have had to get away in broad daylight.

However, by going to a full court press that its an attack on Christians, they give themselves an easy segway into discussing how oppressed Christians are when the facts make that claim completely unsupportable.

“But Mr. Politician, he clearly stated that he wanted to kill black people, not Christians. He himself is a Christian”

“But it happened in a church…a Christian church. A sacred place of holiness where we cannot even feel safe anymore. How long is America going to turn a blind eye to the martyring of some many good Christians? blah-blah-blah…God…Country…etc etc.”

“Thank you for being with us, now for a commercial break”

The uninformed, un thinking audience members will go “Well, yeah, he is right…I 'member when they was talking about it being an attack on Christianity when it happened”

Mission Accomplished.

Chill off… is not like there was a bomb going off in a marathon full of white people…

Not necessarily, she woke up (and I can’t stand writing this) “to broken hearts.” What she lacks in brains she makes up for in bad prose.

If you want to show your sympathy for the victims of this unspeakable tragedy, you rotten, Teabagger-racist supporting bitch - and I am NOT retracting that description of her - then go out to the front of the capitol building and burn that big, ugly, fucking Confederate flag you support with your heart and soul. Fuck you, Gov. Haley, and the racist South Carolinians you rode in on.

Someone should ask Justice John Roberts what he really thinks.

Perhaps it’s time to rethink the continued South Carolina (and other southern states) government use and support of the Confederate Flag?

Hopefully, you’re being sarcastic. If not, your comment is completely out of line.
