Funny how Li’l Nimrata managed to avoid the blatantly obvious racial aspects of this mass murder, and how she managed to turn it into an attack on Christianity.
And I don’t remember her saying to the press, “Follow me, boys,” as she strode out on the lawn around the capitol and took the Confederate battle flag down from its place of honor and set it ablaze.
She is a monstrous hypocrite—she signed a bill to make it easier to get guns in South Carolina.

Not a single reference to the fact that the murders were racially motivated or that this was an attack on the black community. Near the end she also references the outpouring of emotion from across this country including from “Presidential candidates”… while excluding reference to the President himself.
Her clear use of conservative politics in her statement is disgusting.

Here’s a thought experiment for everyone.
Imagine the same gunman, same target (a group of black people doing nothing wrong) but instead of a church, the victims were hanging out together on one of their front porches, no security camera to ID the gunman, no Facebook photo of the guy wearing white supremacist symbols…
Haley would not be saying boo about this, much less “breaking down”. Nope, the 'they had it coming, where probably drinking 40s liven on welfare, yadda yadda yadda…" would be the de rigueur response from Fox News et al and a deafening silence from Haley.
But because it was a “church” and was “bible study” and the perp was caught on camera and quickly tied to visual evidence of racist motives… well then out come the crocodile tears from Haley, the caterwauling about “religious liberty” from fuck-sticks like Santorum, etc. etc.
Change the location and erase the security camera, and the entire narrative would be radically different even with the same gunman killing innocent people because they were black.
I honestly do feel disgust at what this racist fuck did, and feel empathy (and sympathy) for those whose whose friends, loved ones, were murdered by this prick. But how some black lives suddenly matter when the circumstances don’t allow for the typical outs, and that this was in a church somehow making this more heinous of a crime, makes me more than a little disgusted.
And I fully expect some to take issue with my post, but honestly, I am a little tired of the ignorance, the pretense, and the posturing of too many in the public eye. I can only imagine how much more depressing and terrible it likely is for people of color, who have to live with knowing these sorts of shallow pretensions is about you as the object of the violent narratives, which live just below the surface.
But I do hope that every time some idiot conservative, or ammosexual gun-nutter rants about “freedumb” or “take back our country” now takes pause and steps back and finally understand this is what the results of their rhetoric, their fears, is and that their world-view empowers.
So no Ms. Haley, spare me your tears which I don’t buy. And if by chance they are genuine, in that case realize this is, underneath, the legacy of which side of the political spectrum you travel with, and knowingly or unknowingly help animate.

I honestly have never been more disgusted by conservatives than I am right now. Even amidst this horrific racially motivated crime, they still will not admit that black lives matter. To them, only Christian lives matter, and if you are black your Christian life only matters when you are in a church because the taking of your life can be used symbolically as an attack on their religion. Their coordinated refusal to admit that this crime was racially motivated unambiguously demonstrates that to them BLACK lives do not matter.
