Discussion: GOPers Wave Off Trump's Escalating Threats To Mueller And Rosenstein

Some wave it off because they need Mueller fired as well, they are guilty too.

Some wave it off as to not poke the cornered animal, and cause Trump to fire Mueller and company.

Lastly some don’t want to make it look like they will do something if Mueller is fired, because they know that not enough Republicans will vote to actually hold Trump accountable.

A crap sandwich that Republicans have made for themselves.

The closer they get the more irrational Trump becomes
He will fire Rosenstein and proceed from there.
The problem for Trump is it wont stop anything.
The investigation of Cohen is a State investigation and he can’t touch it.
Mueller has the goods on him and it won’t stop the FBI from pursuing it

Therein is the key
I suspect there was a lot of Russian cash flowing towards Republicans and we will see the Dominos fall

I also think the GOP can’t conceive of the reaction from Trump supporters if they raise a finger to shield Mueller or Rosenstein. They are terrified, because Trumpers are erratic and unpredictable and quite often extremely stupid.

But they also don’t want to be effectively colluding with the Russians, because the Ghost of Reagan will haunt them.

It would be sad if this weren’t their own fault. They thought they were being patriots when they spent the Obama administration fearmongering. Turns out they were being Robespierre. They should get a page or something to look up how that worked out for him.

I’m looking forward to some sententious and ineffectual drivel from “moderates” Collins, Flake, etc…

When my boss asks me today for the contingency plan he requested, I’ll simply say: ‘No need. That’s not going to happen.’ And when he says, ‘How can you be so confident?’ I’ll say, ‘I’m quite sure … unless there’s something really bad that happens.’

If the House and Senate actually do pass legislation protecting the Special Counsel, nothing will happen as The Vulgar Talking Yam will veto the bill.

By Trump’s definition, they are the loser class.

So the Boente contemporaneous notes from his dinner with Andre (err Comey) are supposedly the firebreak that serve to slow down the move to fire Rosenstein, the thought being: Obstruction, duh!

Might be too subtle for the faux news crowd, and especially cheetoh hitler. Besides, with the Vichy Congress, just WTF you think they’re going to do anyway. They show no spine now and I doubt anything’s going to move them to action even if dotard goes all Apprentice-y firing cray. I would be pleasantly surprised to see them take a stand but I ain’t counting on it.

Trump doesn’t have his friends in the WH anymore. There is no one he can lean on. Kelly is the last of his friends and he no longer gets along with him. This is an increasingly dangerous situation for him. He is lonely and bitter. I’m just waiting for him to lash out.

It’s hard to see the week ending without Trump firing somebody, especially with all his Fox friends egging him on. It will probably be Sessions, who is as despised by his base as Rosenstein is, and who Trump has been trying to get to quit for months. There will be some lame pretense as to why, and he will then move someone from his cabinet, probably Pruitt, into the seat, and dare the Senate to do anything about it, leaving the new AG to slow down or even terminate the Special Counsel, taking over supervision from Rosenstein. Scholars can argue whether Sessions being fired rather than quitting allows Trump to replace him by a cabinet member, and the Senate can make noises about not confirming Pruitt when his 200 days are up, but meanwhile he will be Trump’s hatchet man at the DOJ.

Congressional Republicans are between a rock and a hard place. They know that Fox News will cut them to ribbons if they pass a clarifying bill, but they also know the American people will be less than kind if there is a constitutional crisis. All they can do is hope that nothing happens. They have my thoughts and prayers.

REPORTERS: Why not pass a bill to protect him as a prophylactic measure?

I thought Stormy said he’s not into that.

Ba-dum.

Isn’t the Republican Party required to register as a foreign agent?

The thing most of us don’t understand is just how effective the Fox propaganda team has been at pulling the wool over its viewers. They are still trying to deflect with Uranium One and emails. They think Sessions must hate Trump and America or he would never have recused himself. The level of absurdity coming out of that organization is unbelievable.

Asked if firing Mueller or Rosenstein would be an impeachable offense, Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, responded: “It may be, because this is to avoid an investigation of himself.”

“It may be”?
Sometimes a plain, good old “yes” is the best answer.

Spanky needs to decide if he is better off fighting a probable prison term from the Oval Office or from tramp tower. Based on Cohen’s business interests and other clients you know Spanky had to be up to his eyeballs with the NY Russian mob.

A source present at the taping says James Comey’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, airing Sunday at 10 p.m. as a “20/20” special, is “going to shock the president and his team.”
