It’s the Third Rail, GOPers! Who’s grabbin’ it?
Newsflash: “Trump just fired Mueller”
GOP: “Huh, well, who coulda seen that coming? Ya know what they say…hindsight’s 20/20. It’s time for America to move on from this fake scandal anyway.”
Won’t say a peep about Steve Wynn.
Won’t allow bills that protect Mueller.
Won’t acknowledge CBO reports that don’t comport with voodoo economics.
Yet credulous journalists treat them like they’re acting in good faith.
Blue lives only matter when it is convenient for the GOP or 45. The opportunity to act sanctimonious cannot be ignored.
THIS is the problem. CNN, the networks, etc., continues to treat them all as “normal,” when you’ve got a party that has abdicated all responsibility for the law, credibility, and decency. Kinda reminds me of how the Democrats are always taken in when they’ve got control in Washington. Because over at Fox, they couldn’t care less how they’re perceived by anyone except their viewers. Sigh.
I’m betting drumpf will be showing Bob some card tricks illustrating that Russia actually does not exist.
“[T]he chatter that the administration is considering removing Special Counsel Mueller has completely come to a halt,” Tillis spokesperson Daniel Keylin told The Daily Beast.
As usual, the GOP is busy playing spy thriller in their head while ignoring the very real danger that is a Russian co-opted family occupying the White House. The “chatter” is members of the GOP House, the GOP Senate and the most watched cable news station in the country, Fox News, pressuring Trump for 6 months straight to fire Mueller. As late as 2 days ago Rep. Nunes was “uncovering” a spy ring in the FBI, Hannity and Fox & Fiends were telling Trump to fire Mueller and your own Senator from Wisconsin was pushing, on tv, a secret cabal trying to unseat the President.
Every day the entirety of the GOP is calling for Mueller’s firing in one form or another.
The day the FCC or some other higher body of legal authority comes to yank Faux ‘News’ broadcasting license for aiding and abetting a criminal conspiracy and enterprise, will be one for the history books, First Amendment notwithstanding. Let them go out on the city streets like less deserving bums and yell about chemtrails, unmasking, Hillary’s stolen emails and other madeup shit to their hearts content. I hope I’m alive to see that!
I see. The “They” is there, just not on TPM’s main page. I fully understand the “long odds”. The GOP is nowhere near to passing a bill to protect Mueller.
But again, who’s going to make them pay?
That’s the question. The People? Their Constituents? The FBI?
Captain America? The X-Men, Spiderman, Batman, Wonder Woman?
We’ve been fed so much bullshit, dreck, and lies, and fantasy (verb) sold our superheroes and First Responders Military heroes that the hope of anyone actually doing something to make these assholes ruining our country do the right thing is slim and none.
But maybe I’m wrong and Mitch McConnell and Newt Gingrich will suddenly become super duper minutemen saviors of the Constitution.
Right? What? Sorry, Some guy in a white coat is coming to my room now…
I’m so with you. My issue is trying to figure out what order they go in.
Frankly, this is going to go down as no different than the following:
“You know, we need to budget for water treatment so the new water supply doesn’t fuck up the city’s entire water system.”
“Gosh, you know, looking back, we really should’ve listened to whoever said that instead of trying to achieve more budget cuts for political points. Ah well, what can ya do but move on?”
Or hey…
“Mr. President, there’s a terror intelligence memo over here I think you should read…”
“Not now, Jim, I’m busy practicing reading My Pet Goat out loud so I don’t screw it up in front of the kids…this story is fascinating…”
This makes no sense. Why in hell would the Special Counsel leak this? But then, almost nothing makes sense any more. I’m tired.
The bills are the “they”, as you’ve already been told, as sloppy a piece of writing as I’ve ever seen.
Welp. What if they are under investigation themselves….
Remember, even the tax reform scam still doesn’t seem to have set them free from the moron in the Oval. And I am old enough to remember how those traitors reacted when the moron fired Comey: “It’s the President’s prerogative, I’m focusing on what’s in my control.” They may well be thinking they could get away with their inaction in the same way again.
To congress:
-
Do __ not __ protect mueller with bill number 1,
-
Debate and pass bill number 2.
Bill 1 bill to protect special prosecutor from firing by __ any __ president of the united states of america.
"When a president is suspected of breaking a law a "Special prosecutor (s.P.) " is to be appointed by a panel of __ state legislatures (number to be determined) __ because to have the s.P. Appointed by the president that then may bring charges against him is awkward __ as well as the fact that the __ federal __ legislature may have to impeach him (house) and hold a trial (senate) and therefore has a vested interest in the out come (the stress /effort of picking an s.P. And wish / need to convict the president so that the effort is not wasted) ".
Bill 2 proposal to protect an s.P. Who is currently investigating a president who is __ currently __ in office
-
The s. P. May only be fired under these __ very specific __ conditions.
(to be determined)
-
If the president __ tries __ to fire him for other reasons we (the congress) will consider that as an admission of guilt on all charges and __ hereby __ consider him to be impeached / indicted (house acting as grand jury) and convicted (senate acting as trial court) and therefore he must leave office.
Just look at those three “conflicts” that Trump wanted to use as the basis to fire Mueller last year. They are completely bogus, and show two things: first, Trump has no idea what a conflict of interest is (if he wanted to know, he could just look in the mirror), and second, if he was going to lean on those three thin reeds, he must have been desperate to get rid of Mueller. And you can bet that he’ll try again, especially now that Mueller has been interviewing those in Trump’s inner circle and looking into Trump’s finances. All of Ty Cobb’s statements that Trump is cooperating with the Special Counsel’s office, and all of the Republicans’ claims that there’s no indication Trump will fire Mueller is just whistling past the graveyard. It’s going to happen, sooner than later, and almost surely before the midterms.
No worries. The Constitution affords the people a remedy for dealing with thieves, special interest whores and hackasses in power. Vote against gop at every level in every election. And, bring a friend with you to the polls.
I do wonder how far down they’ll have to get. Because at this point it’s absolutely clear that firing Mueller would be part of a criminal conspiracy. (Hmm, I am not a lawyer or a law-enforcement type, so what would be the rules about arresting someone as soon as they start printing out the memo claiming to detail misconduct by the special counsel? Starr would have had no qualms about doing that.)
Thanks, littlegirlblue. I probably never would have understood “they” referred to the bills if you hadn’t explained. “The bills still face…” would have been clear. I’m grateful to a teacher friend of mine who told me, “Never use a pronoun when you can use a noun.”
