Discussion: GOPer Suggests Rolling Back Guidelines For Combating College Sexual Assault

What, Trump’s planning a college tour?

(And, yes, I know that’s not really funny. Not much of what’s coming is funny, unless like me you regard black humor as a survival technique.)

While the press is still giving all its ink and pixels to Trump, beware that the greatest harm to the country (except for Trump pressing the button) will come from Congress. (Unless we resist with all our might, and urge any timid Democratic politicians to show some mettle, and try to save something of America for future generations.)

“There is a huge amount of evidence that…”

Evidence shmevidence—the incoming Freedom Caucus chairman don’t need no steenking evidence!

let’s make the college experience fun again by quietly condoning rape and sexual assault as we did in the good old days…

Whatever it takes to keep those college athletes on the field so your friends can squeeze them for sweet, sweet profit.

If this idiot has a daughter, I hope she is sexually assaulted and becomes pregnant. She does not deserve that but he does.

Well of course he does.

They didn’t even wait until the EC had met to start on women. Our gov immediately decided to defund Planned Parenthood. I said before this was even getting off the ground that they would make women pay for daring to run for the presidency.

They went right after us first fucking thing.

As far as these assholes are concerned, women should not even be going to college If they do, well, they are asking for it.

WTF is wrong with voters in North Carolina? I mean seriously, this idiot is more interested in protecting the rights of accused rapists than of their victims. Does he not have any daughters? What if his mother was the victim of sexual assault? The mind simply boggles at their stupidity and complete lack of humanity.

Like so many Republicans, he want to knock down the entire structure of government (except the part in uteri, of course), and doesn’t give a damn who’s crushed when the structure falls.

Am I missing something here?
“The Title IX guidance document . . . virtually dictates one-size-fits-all procedures which provide less protection to the accused, and deny the often-innocent accused basic due process rights,” it reads. “As a result, many complainants are discouraged from reporting rapes to the local law enforcement.”

Ummm, if it’s the ACCUSED who are denied rights, why would complainants be discouraged from reporting rapes?

I want more context on that 2010 symposium and its findings. It’s from the Idaho state government, or at least it’s linked there, but who conducted this research and how?

So they’re not even hiding it anymore - today’s Republican Party is objectively pro-rape.

Truer words were never spoken. Just shows you how little things have changed too.

Well what else would we expect? They have an objectively pro-rapist for their president.

It takes a real special GOP guy to support sexual predators over victims. We really are going back to the 50’s – like 1850. Way to go, Meadows. BTW - do you have college age daughters, or maybe it’s sons that are motivating you?

Thank god for the end of politically correct sexual relations.
