She wants to be like the “anti-WARshington” republicans like Gingrich, Bauer and Norquist. They hate “WARshington” so much they stayed there after their government service was over.
What is she running for? To get a deeper trough which will refill itself regularly.
Know-nothing dingbat demagogue alert.
The only thing preventing a GOP Senate “win” are Democrats who get their butts out and VOTE!
You could ask the same thing of Rand Paul and his cohort but the reply would be word salad including “lean” and “efficient.”
Nifty job when you can get it. $174,000 a year for rather few days in actual session. Plus the other days amassing a war chest for the next election. And talking to big time donors and doing their bidding.
Her 47% moment?
Hey, the rest of the Midwest already says that Iowa stands for Idiots Out Walking Around.
I’ve reached my RDA—Recommended Derp Allowance—and will go have dinner. Crazy people gonna be crazy, is the long and short of it.
If and when she’s called on it, she’ll pull a Mittens and deny that it’s what she said and certainly not what she meant but she is clearly just reworking:
“I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”
Ernst is absolutely right! Why, today, when my wife and I were in line at the bank today, cashing our Social Security check, we think we saw someone with a welfare check. We were going to tell him what we thought of his pathetic dependency, but we were late for our Medicare-funded doctors’ appointments.
Yeah, Tom Brokaw calls them the greatest generation, they have medicare and social security to give them the independence to live a full and meaningful life in their twilight years.
What an idiotic statement re ACA. Does she understand that people buy and pay for insurance-- you know, the grown up way of being responsible for one’s bills? The GOP wants to be the party of personal responsibility, but then she says it’s 100% dependency when people participate? She can’t be taken seriously. Chuck Todd - has she disqualified herself yet?
So what you are saying is that you agree with her?
Nuance isn’t the latest fragrance from Prince Matchabelli
Sorry, can’t help you. I’m still waiting for my ObamaPhone.
Also, I was told people who voted for Obama didn’t have to pay taxes. Really wish someone would let IRS know about this rule; I mailed off my installment payment yesterday and still owe thousands more.
Is there any media in Iowa that will ask her to specify exactly what things this ‘whole generation’ is dependent on and exactly how she proposes to wean people off those things?
Wait, don’t the farmers in Iowa like subsidy money?
But in the ACA a lot of people are not buying and paying for insurance. You have millions that are being covered via Medicaid as a result of the ACA. You have millions more who’s premiums are being paid, sometimes 100%, by tax subsides.
I don’t have a problem with either Medicaid expansion or tax credits for premiums but her rhetoric is not without a little truth. Of course if she were to actually include those who are receiving some sort of funding from the Government a lot of those who are shaking their heads up and down, would not like being included into the dependency class.
So this hair helmet is part of the group that will be educating us, and who ‘knows’ how painful it will be? Yes, historically when the rich have tried to squeeze the poor too much it’s been “painful” for them. Marie Antoinette, for example, found it painful, but just for a minute.
“it’s going to take a lot of education to get people out of that. It’s going to be very painful and we know that.”
"it’s going to take a lot of education to get people out of that. It’s going to be very painful
