Discussion: GOP Senators Fault Trump Policy For Syria Chemical Weapons Attack

WHO was Assad’s intended target? Who mattered this much to him or Putin, and why?

Any suggestions?

Heck of a job, Trumpie.

I think that Rubio didn’t take back his endorsement (post AH tape), but I also think McCain voted for Romney (?), last cycle.

Their first mistake is assuming that Trounce has a policy. He’s just attacking and hoping for the best then running like a dog with his tail between his legs after the easily foreseeable failures.

Its so far past time for Rubio to talk tough, he’s basically the GOP punching bag and even Latinos despise him.

He’s owned by numerous entities and interests so much that they are buying shares and trading him.
Rubio is basically a bad penny stock, which is the bottom of the bottom.

Ricky is positioning himself to slip into a leading role “after the fall.” I would not give him too much credit.

The dismantling of the State Department, a Robert Mercer wish, is proceeding apace. US embassies around the world are pushing off appointments and routine processes for months or “not this year, at least.” They have no idea of manning or remaining duties or even what programs will get nixed. Under review. This agenda is very narrow, much like the East India Company, a product of mercantilism that imposed its own agenda, even superceding local state structures in many instances. Looking at The Fourth Turning and other crazy right-wing lit, it may be that kleptocrats are basically done with the modern state. The modern kleptocrat wants a platform that is global, so the very notion of taxes is anathema. In contrast, freedom of movement for others is just a headache. Since State has a lot to do with visas, green-carding, passports, etc. doing away with the whole shit seems the logical choice. It is interesting that only after 9/11 Americans started to apply for passports in large numbers. We had one of the lowest rates of passport holders, like under 20% of the population, before then.

Good on ya, Mario

It was way more hilarious before Nov 2016. He is a much more credible candidate now, I am afraid…

You helped put him in office, Marco. Now what was that again about taking responsibility?

It’s almost like the State Department, arguably the most important department, is on auto-pilot. For expats the situation is scary.

Ya, I see that Russia has now challenged Trump to start articulating a plan. This would be a problem because gas attacks are not well countered by gasbags.

Marco Rubio is one of my Senators, though not my favorite by a long shot. I’m well aware of his shortcomings and his lack of basic principles. He gives every appearance of taking whatever action or inaction best profits him at the moment. I’m about to send a comment through his website, and I do not intend to beat up on him for anything he’s done in the past. As you might with a child, when you catch him doing something right, you praise him.

I want him to see that this action brought some support from one of his constituents. I’ve given him negative feedback for just about everything he’s done wrong. He might like to hear that he’s (finally) done something right. He might actually see that kind of reinforcing message.
