The panic has set in amongst the Republicans. It really is that simple. They don’t know which way things are going to go, and it’s causing them to run around trying to figure out how to survive rather than doing the right thing- packing up and shutting down until next election cycle.

Exactly what I was thinking. Never mind the moral, ethical question here. What in the hell is she thinking tactically? Is it that challenging to see what the likeliest scenario is? This guy is going to go charging around the landscape like a wounded rhino right up to the 8th and for a long time afterward, hurting Republicans as much as he can. Any support you ever expressed for him will come back to bite you, much less support in the post-Gropergate era. It just doesn’t make sense.

I don’t know much about her, but if Palin’s endorsing her this flip-flop may not be as cynical as it would look. She may be mostly a dope who likes Donald a lot. Amid the furor she may have regretfully, with a tear in her eye, suggested he step down, but as a Christian warrior she now is heartened! Yay! He 'pologized, no problemo let’s go on to win! True believers, they’re on a powerful drug.

The best solution for the GOP is to either kick the Trumplodites out of the Party or for the sane parts of the GOP to revolt, leave and build up the Libertarians. It will mean sacrificing between three and six election cycles, but it would be far more worth it for the sane members of the GOP. The problem for the GOP is that they are so dedicated to holding onto power that they would rather die than do that.
The Democrats, however, need to work on several fronts, but none actually require sacrificing their potential electoral gains.
