Aside from the general absurdity, a quick look at Google Earth shows that the outer perimeter at the United States Penitentiary Leavenworth is 1.25 miles from the river. The terrorists could get much closer driving on public roadways through the town than in their submarine.

If Ft. Levenworth is so insecure, it should be closed and moved to a safer location. Move it to a nice blue state, and auction the land off to the highest bidder(s).
This way Kansas will be safe. And the heavy hand and boot of the Federal government will be removed from the necks of the good people of Kansas.

I think the White House should express surprise that the good Senator thinks so little of our miliatary and federal corrections officersā ability to secure a facility. Perhaps it needs to move to another state.

Key point: the Electoral College is weighted by population; the Senate is not. So āthe peopleā elect the President, while the Senate represents the Several States. Turns out racists like to isolate themselves in the smaller states, thus having disproportionate control of the āworldās greatest deliberative bodyā.
What was intended to be a mechanism for preventing small states from being overpowered by large ones has flipped on its head. Ironically, it was racism then, and itās racism now.
