It is interesting that KCCI Channel 8 did not see this as an issue when recapping the debate. Their take on the debate was all the candidates did well as they stood for second amendment rights and against the Affordable Care Act (with no fact checking as to the accuracy of the reasons given for opposition to the law).

As far as the “she probably meant to say” theses: if she had any self-awareness, and truly meant “incident” or some other relatively innocuous term, instead of “accident,” she would have corrected herself immediately.

Given that much of her campaign - at least, the ads she puts out - is/are focused on castrating Dems and shooting things, I’m a-guessin’ she meant what she said and she said what she meant. “A wingnut is evil, 100 per cent.” (Apologies to the memory of Dr. Suess.)

No, I’m with sandyh. It was a Freudian slip. In her mind all gun incidents are accidents except for the Zimmerman variety which are red-blooded American self-defense heroism.

Ah, an “unfortunate incident.” Apparently we cannot trust anyone endorsed by the NRA.

Even if you think everyone should own a gun, how does this meet the definition of accident? If a gun is dropped and goes off than it could be called an accident, someone should be punished but it is an accident. This was premeditated mass murder. A gun was not used to hurt everyone, but still it was no accident. Very intentional.
