Every time a Republican says something remotely reasonable these days I go into a state of mild shock.
I could like this guy, if his policy positions weren’t evil.
Someone shut this motherfucker up before the rest of them get a clue.
I know, right? Undoubtedly, though, he still thinks Obamacare is evil and needs to be destroyed.
Not really sure what are where Sanford is trying to go with this "Truth Teller " suit he is trying to put on.
For someone who makes up the worst excuses for his absence I’ve ever seen, and who fell in love with this own doppelganger, this was one smart goddamn thing to say.
For a Repuglican.
I’m staggered.
Hey, you spend enough time out there on the Appalachian Trail, you pick up a few things.
Wow, when did the the Appalachian Trail turn into the high road?
It’s essentially 'good cop/bad cop" and yep, they ran a similar strategy last year.
I’m beginning to think there is some sort of mysterious correlation between the level of arrogant asshole-ery of the lawmakers and the volume of their constituents. And I’m not talking just the “paid” ones.
“The bulk of folks were local, they were from the district and they were passionate about what they believed," he said.
But still, fuck 'em.
It’s a very zen experience.
I don’t see how that works with Congressmen, though.
They aren’t working a national crowd of perps with that routine, and it’s a rep per congressional district, so while 2 senators can play that game, I don’t quite get how that works with representatives.
Looks like this survivor has cast his lot with the choppy sea around Trump’s lifeboat…
It’s a not-unknown pattern to have a crowd of nasty little conformists telling one story and one lone oddball, who doesn’t care about being out of step, describing things more or less as they really are.
No matter what anyone thinks of Sanford, this is good press and that never hurts.
This guy is becoming my favorite Republican.
Well that I can understand.
He’s not a Freedom Caucus Repug is he?
He introduced Rand Paul’s ACA replacement bill in the House and it’s been endorsed by the Freedom Caucus, but I don’t think he’s a formal member of the group.
