Discussion: GOP Rep.: Promise To Bring My Own Bill To Floor Makes Me A 'Yes' On Repeal

I do think we’ll have a few more “caves” before the vote tomorrow - meaning that this disaster may pass the House.

So typical to make a big deal about something that isn’t even a real issue.

Can that Evita quote (the admiral one) be used for this story?

The “Time is my greatest enemy” one?

“I would have a hard time explaining to families in the 11th District – many of whom are still struggling to put food on the table and foot the costs of their own health care bills – why they should be helping to pay for the health expenses of someone who broke the law to get here and has no right to those federal dollars,” he wrote.

Well that’s good, because you are going to have a hard time explaining why the cost of their own health care bills is going to prevent them from putting food on the table.

One less thing and all.

They will all fold because of promises.

The admiral one

I don’t think so. I think that the Freedom Caucus specializes in being dickish and they’ll continue their successful track record. They don’t want to introduce legislation, they don’t want to govern, they just want to impede and destroy government. This is what the Republicans created. An entire caucus that isn’t remotely interested in governing. There isn’t anything to promise them because they don’t care.

Wow. Barletta will vote “Yes” because rAyn promised he could introduce a bill to make sure undocumented immigrants don’t receive health care tax credits, which they already don’t receive because they don’t file taxes. The pathology of these people is beyond all possible comprehension.

This guy makes the average pebble of gravel look like a Mensa candidate.

"Because my concerns were met, I will vote for the bill with the
understanding that my bill will receive full consideration on the House
floor next month.”

Do I smell a bribe?

I’m willing to change my vote in favor of legislation that will cause great harm to my constituents in order to get a vote on a bill that is a solution looking for a problem that, unfortunately doesn’t exist.

It’s the Republican way. Ryan, no doubt, had a healthy laugh at this brain trust when he left.

I’ve decided to sell all my lower and middle class constituents right down the river simply because I was promised something unrelated.

Sure, that’s normal/ethical/okay/something to be proud of.

Isn’t that the Republican way?

The only thing worse than being poor in Trump’s mean spirited America is being poor and undocumented and brown.

Honest to Christ…can’t we force candidates to pass a basic intelligence test before running? Please?

Shorter Barletta: I found a handy excuse for voting to let some of my constituents die. Think they will fall for it?

Of course not, isn’t that like a poll tax for white people? Now, of course, when it comes to voting…

Had to hit the google

Eva PerĂłn: Did you hear that? They called me a whore! They actually called me a whore!

Prince Fuspoli: But, Signora Perón, it’s an easy mistake. I’m still called an admiral, though I gave up the sea long ago.
