EDIT: And because this story doesn’t seem as dead as I thought, adding the usual: I hope any Jews here have already contacted their Dem reps about this; the non-Jewish ones need to know where most of us stand, and it isn’t with Bibi. And if you haven’t yet, call your nearest Israeli consulate and voice your outrage about this political stunt; the last thing Israel needs is to become a partisan issue here. (Those calls are reportedly having a real impact back in the home office.) And finally, if you want an effective counterweight to AIPAC, look into J Street – the more support they can show, the greater their influence
will be.
gee King…your lot poisoned Congress’s well with your own obstruction and now your whining that you have to drink that water???
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…HA
I hope Barack Obama, and through him, the majority of Americans who sent him to the White House TWICE
dance all over your heads for the next two years.
So Israel is our only ally in the region, and has always stood by us. Pray tell, when does Israel start fighting their own battles in the region, instead of sitting back and letting the USA do all the dirty work? When did Netanyahu stand by us? He is a war hawk who has turned his back on all efforts to resolve the tensions between Israel and its neighbors. Our support of Israel has done nothing but bring pain and grief to America, and I haven’t seen the benefit.
When I heard Rep. King was being an idiot, I naturally assumed it was the other Rep. King. Alas, stupidity is catching these days. What we have is a last hurrah of the neocon argument from 2003. Poor Republicans, when they lose a bad argument, they still have to beat the nonsense to death and Rep. King of New York under those terms is no better than his counterpart in Iowa. The neocons were a national disaster —end of story. It is 2015 and it is time to move on. Republicans are mistaken if they think they can return to a failure.
Admit it, Rep. King, the neocons didn’t make a lick of sense.
In the meantime, the world is moving on very rapidly and Republicans are wasting everyone’s time trying to solve the problems of twenty years ago. Israel is still our friend, but no more games, no more cons, and no more defending an era that is now passing by. We need to move on.
How in the world could any part of Long Island elect such a nitwit?
“Nassau and Suffolk counties”
Never been to that part of New York. But my God, is it populated by morons?
Well, everyone knows Peter King hates terrorists. Except, you know, those IRA terrorists he used to fund-raise for who would blow up cars. Those were good terrorists. But other terrorists, he hates them!
“What I don’t get is how they don;t realize that this constant bashing of the president on a daily basis for every fucking thing they just did , is working against them.”
To show you how much an a-hole this guy is that 5 former ambassadors from Israel have asked the prime minister to cancel the speech. The GOP are going insane at this point. This is what they do when they power. They shot themselves in the foot and in 2016 they will lose. Typical.
Also: Obama’s “apology tour to Iran…etc”?? WTF? Did President Obama visit Iran some time in the last six years and not remember to, y’know, actually TELL anybody about it?
Rep. King is obviously suffering from a severe case of Obama Derangement Syndrome; that scourge of the modern political world: maybe someone should promote a telethon or soimething to get him help…
I came into this thread late, so what I say may have already been pointed out…
King and people like him (sheltered in Gerrymandered Heaven) utter what their most venal, spiteful and hateful voters would fantasize, just to provide occasional red meat. These utterances have no basis in any foreign or domestic policy, either current or over time. They DO have validity in presenting these hate-filled unfortunates a basis (or bases) for focusing their incredibly misplaced anger on Mr. Barack Obama.
I have thought long and hard about the kinds of people these Republican voters are, and I believe that they suffer from a form of cultural “neurosis”-- that is, their anger and rage stem from things separate from actual reality. For example, some of the most hate-filled diatribes dealing with Muslims and Latinos occur among dittoheads who have never even seen either one, let alone having suffered grievously from either group. Some of the most vile, evil and satanic racist chants against African Americans occur among dittoheads who, as a group, should be asking for forgiveness for being descended from enslavers.
Because I am convinced that nearly everyone associated with the Media is aware of this neurosis and is STILL compelled to pander to it (because of 0.001% prerogatives), I reserve my greatest scorn for the MSM.
The Republivoters are in the grips of what could be compared to an impractical, reflexive dread like claustrophobia. “They know not what they do”.
