I feel a Congressional wave election building up steam.
Keep up the pressure, folks. In the meantime, work diligently to find a replacement for all these noodniks that don’t understand that their job is to represent their constituents, not their benefactors or the POTUS. This should be a question asked at every single town hall, whether Dem or Rep - for whom do you work? Get the answer on audio and/or video and run it incessantly during the next campaign. I guarantee you no one on the GOP has yet learned they work for us.
As time goes on, I think you’re right. But most likely, it’ll show up in the House not the Senate. Works for me.
What a shame it’s such a shitty Senate cycle for us.
I live nearby. McClintock will never learn–he just checks his bankbook. But this continued pressure is scaring some people, and waking some voters up. Great.
Big enough wave in the House we might get the Senate back. Don’t think people pissed off with their House member are going to split their ticket when voting for Senate.
That assumes the nat’l and state Dem organizations can get their acts together. Big if.
Edit–I just checked and 43 GOP senators aren’t up for election in 2018, compared to 23 for the Dems. Taking back the Senate will be a challenge.
Also assumes that voters get off their collective asses in a mid-term. Look how many sat out 2016 because “the candidates are all the same.”
Only the dimmest of emo-progs would do that after the November Debacle.
There are quite a few of them, to be sure, but they won’t have any major influence next year.
I agree that a wave is building, and enough people are either pissed or scared or both by what the Trumpists are trying to do to make it very hard for the GOP to hold on to power.
These reactions are why I am surprised they are willing to take another swing at death by GOP health care replacement plan. The more publicity the fake replacement plans get the bette,r as long as they are not allowed to development enough propaganda to pass it.
Democrats need to sharpen their messing to connect emotionally when discussing the GOP plan. Forget the big words. Just say - does not maternity care, does not cover cancer care, does not cover well child care, does not cover addition treatment.
Which will make it all the tastier if we can pull off a win there. Good Lord, no telling what the landscape will be in 8 months.
Hope floats.
OT – In other Drumpf news to roll you eyes over and/or get pissed off about:
The entire Republican party has made a corrupt bargain with this administration. Its obvious. Doing their damn jobs by holding President Shit-for-Brains accountable to the taxpayers is the last thing they plan to do now or going forward. Their objective is to have no checks and balances on purpose. That is one of the biggest reason to vote these bastards out of office.
“can save $250 billion simply by the efficiencies that competition will return to the market” must be the latest RNC-approved version of “screw the non-wealthy.”
I guess we should be grateful that he didn’t talk about tax cuts for the wealthy “working their magic on the free market” well, not THIS time, at least.
How IS Susan Sarandon doing these days? And Glenn Greenwald, for that matter?
Bless their hearts.
PS: Yes, I realize Greenwald is not an emo-prog.
Oh, and that “investigate Susan Rice” thing? GMAFB. I’m surprised that he didn’t ask for more investigation of Hitlary’s e-mails/server.
I’m not sure that’s right. The vibe I get from him is decidedly emo-prog. My Chemical Romance playing a Bernie fundraiser.
Oh, but he is!! And on top of that, he’s a sensational liar with a chip on his shoulder the size of the Washington Monument.
If he told me the sky was blue, I’d have to look out the window before I could agree with him.
So bright, also too. Sending his mule boyfriend through Heathrow on a BA connecting flight to Rio at a time when MI6 was investigating. A non-stop Lufthansa flight left the next day. I’m sure Border Control was really amused when the mule said, “But I’m a journalist - you can’t search my laptop.”
