I wonder how many of these forms he’s had to fill out?
The Russian shoe will drop and all the Russians in Congress will have some 'splaining to do. Treason has its rewards. Initially for the Russians, later on for the Dems. Jeers and Jail for the traitorous lot. Ben and Jerry’s will make Impeachmint ice cream and Dems will control Congress. Fun times in Merica.
Here is the big disconnect between most voters (not just democrats and independents) and the GOP in congress:
“You promised me (at the February town hall meeting in Roseville)
that the shift from Obamacare would be equal to or better,” Emerson
said, according to the Auburn Journal. “Shame on you, Tom, you’ve lost your integrity.”
McClintock defended the American Health Care Act.
“The AHCA (American Health Care Act), in its amended form, can save
$250 billion simply by the efficiencies that competition will return to
the market,” he said, per the Auburn Journal. “I want to make sure no
one suffers from sticker-shock in a consumer-driven system.”
Voter - you promised equal or better
GOP Congress - This will save $250 billion <budget concern (tax cuts) not health care>
That’s the rub. That’s got to keep being the message sent back to Congress. You serve people not just big funders/donors. The health care delivered is what matters not the budget savings/tax cuts for the few.
No disagreement re: truth value of anything he says.
But, I see him as more of a glibertarian than a prog. He had a “moment” back during Iraq, where he acted as if he were a progressive. But he’s as much a prog as Assange is.
PS: I don’t necessarily think that GG is a Putin Pawn, the way Assange is. On the other hand, it would not surprise me if I were wrong about that.
PPS: Apologies for turning this into a Greenwald-a-thon, was not my intent.
That struck me - especially in reaction to a question/statement that last February the Congressman had promised same or better care than Obama.
Wtf does the savings have to do with better care or at least same care? Nothing. No provisions require the savings to = better or same care. Nada. So are the savings needed, why is that an end goal rather than health care (ins.) delivered?
Ya, we know the answers, but those questions have to start popping up all over the place so that the congressfolks KNOW that we recognize that end goal - and are not having it!
Would it be too obvious if Republican congress people took their two weeks on the Black Sea, instead of their home districts?
Nobody needs to worry about how or what either Sarandon or Greenwald is doing. They have no influence among bread and butter issues Independent voters, and Independents are the voters our side needs to get. They’re the largest voting block in the country, larger by far than either the Republican or Democratic cohorts.
I’m entirely disappointed that it took the AHCA to fully explain what the ACA did and now everyone loves ACA - not because of anything the Dems did, but because the GOP made such a disaster out of replacing it.
People getting what they deserve from a Congresscritter who cares more about his Party than the people who put him into office.
Maybe the next time the low foreheads who voted for this schmuck will have the brains and the memory to pick someone better to represent them. But since they were stupid enough to vote for a Republican in the first place, maybe, just maybe the people of this district deserve what the don’t get.
0.000001 on the sympathy meter.
That may well go up in 19 or so months time when and if the people in this district have enough guts and sense to stand up for what is supposed to be “their” Government."
You can use the excuse “I didn’t know he was a schmuck!” for exactly one and only one election. Let me know what the people in this district do in 2018, and then we’ll know more about who the genuine schmucks happen to be.
“The AHCA (American Health Care Act), in its amended form, can save $250 billion simply by the efficiencies that competition will return to the market,”
There are dozens of countries that offer cheaper and better healthcare than the United States. Here’s a list of all of the ones that have accomplished this via free market competition:
Well, I’d disagree with the “by far” characterization, but independents are certainly the largest (except among white men).
Re: Sarandon and Greenwald: it was a joke. I would be just as happy if they pulled a Thelma-and-Louise, but I don’t waste any brain cycles about them either way.
Yes, indeed, but they might find the Black Sea more interesting, even more inviting than their districts. Some native species from there have invaded waters here; perhaps time for an exchange?
Now this freak wants a “civil” discussion? Tommy, we’re way past civil and standing with both feet in confrontational. Do your job, i.e. represent your constituents.
“Be civil, be polite, and allow people to have a civil exchange of ideas.”
Said the jackass whose lying is the most uncivil part of the discussion.
“Shame on you, Tom, you’ve lost your integrity.”
No, Gullible Voter, shame on you for failing to realize he never had any in the first place.
That’s great!
Yeah, and the apathy is catching up to them.
I see him as a pompous, self-absorbed, whining asshole.
But that’s just me.
"“I think that this President does need to be held to the letter of the Constitution,” McClintock said, per CNN. “I believe his attack on Syria exceeded his authority as commander-in-chief.”
So, Representative McClintock, what are YOU going to do about it?
I know! You will do nothing.
