Discussion for article #224474
Utter cowardice. If you have the articles, bring the impeachment. If you do not start this Summer there will not be time left on the clock. A lawsuit will take even longer. It’s all angry man talk.
If a House member is breathing, it’s political.
A Sunday gas bagger who hates Obama. Disregard. But there’s lots of crazy scheduled today. Issa will spew on CNN today, and NBC will have Rinse. Me, I’m going to read the funny papers.
When Chris Wallace is the one to ask the sane, reasonable questions, you know you are in political “crazy land.”
So, what can a lawsuit possibly achieve? I presume it will be a suit against Obama in his official capacity as President, not as the person Barack Obama (as it happened during the Clinton years). Shall Obama pay a fine? Privately or from the President’s budget? Shall he go to jail? Become disbarred? How to make the punishment fit the crime?
If the Republicans think it amounts to “high crimes and misdemeanors”, they should impeach him. That is what the constitution provided for in this case. Everything else is pseudo-outraged posturing.
“Not political.” It’s funny how many non partisan concerns the GOP has with Democrats. I guess that’s just how things work out…
Impeach Goodlatte. And Boehner.
Fking liar…
And you will find a lot more useful information in the funny papers.
Party before country. That’s pretty much how it always is with these people.
"Goodlatte said that the legal process could be sped up and should only take a few months."
Sounds like the time frame we use when to go to war. Convenient.
Lie!
Should only take a few months. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, that’s how long the war in Iraq will last.
Of course it’s not political. That’s why we sued George Bush too because he issued twice as many executive orders as Obama.
Isn’t there something in the Good Book about not lying?
TPM: GOP Rep. Insists Lawsuit Against Obama Not Political
Or:
Republican Politicians’ Lawsuit Against Democratic Politician Not Political Insists Right Wing Politician.
As soon as they file, the judge should call them to the bench and ask them how Obama’s actions differ from Bush’s actions that they claimed were totally legal from 2000-2008.
If they don’t answer in a meaningful way, dismiss the suit right then and there, with prejudice.
Party is country with these cons. “Not political” means you dare not question their motives, nothing more.
They’ve tacitly admitted they can’t come up with the grounds for impeachment, even though they know to hold the majority of their caucus, they must keep the pimp hand strong vs. America by showing “democrat president=impeachment, because freedom” from now until the end of time.
In this context only, I’d steer away from “those people” remarks.
Bohner is full of shit he has been around a long time and he knows that has been done by past presidents except they werent black or Obama.
How can you tell when a Republican isn’t being partisan?
He’s buried in a coffin.
I thought of making the punch line “He’s dead” but realized that with zombies like Dick Cheney walking around literally without a pulse, being dead in and of itself was clearly not sufficient to keep a Republican from being partisan.
How much did Starbucks pay this tool to change his name to Goodlatte?
Considering Starbucks’ well-known progressive bent, I’d imagine they’d like to sue this moron to force him to change his last name to Crapcoffee.
