Discussion: GOP Rep. Defends O'care Repeal Plan As Town Hall Crowd Shouts 'Vote Him Out'

But he keeps being reelected ? That makes no sense ?

Plus 1, points for appropriate and timely use of the word, ā€˜quixotic’ !!!

I’m with you tiger - keep fighting the good fight. Don’t get discouraged - there are plenty if trolls who seemingly live to divide dems - either because they’re paid to, or maybe they just like playing into Trump’s (and Vlad’s, for that matter) tiny hands.

They have been drinking their anti-ACA-koolaid inside their ā€œParty of Noā€ tent for so long, they are delusional
[/quote]wish that fit a bumpersticker… when Pence says ā€œwe’re eliminating medicaid expansion to take that burden off the futureā€ it reeks. Doing that only imposes a much worse burden on our future, people without basic healthcare descend into very expensive treatment that drives up everyone’s cost.

ONLY health insurance executives still benefit from this vendetta, there’s no one else who wins. They get bonuses regardless of their failures.

And the losers just die in pain.

the cruelest jackals are now in charge… that is becoming more evident with every draconian cut. They cut the MOST vulnerable, and give more to the wealthy via armament sales and wargames.

The Jackals is a very good label for ā€œthem.ā€ If you ignore the good qualities of jackals.

The bottom line is: Conservatives (republican and democrat) do not represent the electorate, they represent the profiteers who make billions through the rationing of overpriced healthcare and pharmaceuticals. As long as our (cough) elected officials can be purchased we will never have affordable, effective, comprehensive healthcare in America, there is just too much profit in keeping things the way they are.

Good point but there is also a case for trying crooks and locking them up after conviction. Lock him up has a certain resonance.

Another day, another tone-deaf asshat GOP Congressman (notice how it’s always CongressMEN who make asses of themselves in DC?)

Voters are the bosses of those we send to DC. Imagine how well things would go if, during your performance review, you told your boss, ā€œYou don’t know how to listen!ā€ ā€œSit down and be quiet!ā€

Yeah, that would work just fine.

I’m pretty sure Sessions was cheering loudly in 2009 when teabaggers were commandeering Democratic town halls, shouting down speakers, sidetracking the debate into nonsense and lies, and generally making certain that the nation could not have a mature conversation about healthcare.

No that was all wonderful, grassroots democracy in action, unlike now, when it is a bunch of ill-mannered malcontents disrupting well-intentioned congress-people who are simply making a good-faith effort to take away their healthcare.

If Trump is losing Texas can the rest of the Confederacy be far behind?

It’s an R+10 district. He can thumb his nose at them if he wants.

That would be wonderful. Doesn’t seem likely though. He does often quietly give up to extricate himself from a difficult situation, but only if he thinks it won’t be noticed or can be described as a win for him. Leaving the presidency doesn’t give him either of those escape hatches. It’s like Josh says, his overarching concern is to be seen as dominant. You never know, he’s as impulsive as anyone on the planet, but I don’t think he’ll just quit. He’s already transformed the job into a performance as a figurehead, like Queen Elizabeth. He’ll carry on with that until he’s thrown out.

He did identify one real problem, ā€œnot listening.ā€ The problem is that a town hall meeting is supposed to be an opportunity for Members of Congress to listen to their constituents. This fool thinks it his duty to tell his constituents what to think.

He is wron and should be voted out.
