It’s amazing how they’ve constructed an entire reality out of imagination dust and they believe - really, really believe - that it’s true. I am astounded at how the simplest, most obvious facts about things are vociferously denied by the wing-nuts. Bush never lied, Benghazi is a huge scandal, Obama’s gonna take all the guns, Moozlims are taking over 'Murrica, brown people are pouring over our borders, and fetuses are real, live babies who live in a fairly castle that sluts drag them out of and dismember them. It’s really real to most of them and they are scary, because reality cannot touch their beliefs. They will pursue their agenda based on fairy tales until the bitter end.

I was fortunate to be able to use EIA for many analytes, RIA for some and the dreaded Lq. Scintillation (beta emitters) for only a rare few. GC/MS, HPLC and AAS rounded out the remainder of the lot. I absolutely hated the RIA disposal reqs. As RSO, my life was made hell on more than one occasion by my techs’ failure to follow disposal protocol with documention.
I suspect we could share war stories from our times in the laboratory.
