Discussion for article #223721

$200 for a vote? That’s a bargain.

ā€œIf he (McAllister) is wondering why he didn’t receive a check from the Heritage Foundation, which does not make political expenditures of any kind, it is because we do not do it,ā€ Weidman said. ā€œThe Heritage Foundation is a think tank and does research and education, but does not get involved with political bills at all.ā€

Which the political whore Weidman failed to discern is a distinction without a difference.

I guess that since he’s not running again any further donations to him are moot. But he’ll be making the Louisiana county fair circuit this fall with his kissing booth.

And thanks for telling us something we did not already know…

Is being ugly a condition for being republican? Inquiring minds want to know.

I’m shocked – shocked – that there’s quid pro quo going on in here!

Boy.

Getting all this money for votes out of politics sure would make all our lives better.

Sure would. But without some sort of dramatic change—like an invasion of benevolent democracy-loving space aliens—I don’t think we ought to hold our breath.

Hey Justice Scalia… There’s your #QuidProQuo … That YOU said didn’t exist…

And kissing is only the beginning of the type of service I will give to my country.

Just be thankful that the inner webs are not yet capable of providing you with an olfactory experience to accompany the pictures

Duh.

We just need one of the conservative judges of the SCOTUS to retire or buy the farm. My money is on Kennedy retiring or Scalia expiring. Once that happens and we get campaign finance case before the court it’s over and then we return to democracy.

ā€œJames Weidman, a spokesman for Heritage Foundation, told the Ouachita Citizen that the think tank does not spend in elections and ā€˜would never do anything like that.ā€™ā€

No, you’re thinking of Heritage Action. That’s the guy in the cubicle next to mine.

Hope so! I don’t want to put the rich in concentration camps—yet—but I’d prefer that money not be considered speech. Money makes you powerful enough just by being money.

HELP WANTED
Need trillions of dollars so I can buy the following properties. The House of Representative, The Senate and the White House and especially the Supreme Court. I want to rent it to decent human beings of any and all races, religions and sexual orientation that will understand the Founding Fathers and treat the Constitution of the United States and the BIll of Rights as it was written to establish a democracy. If by chance I find individuals that will abide by these documents, I will ask for no more than there judgement on decisions and charge no rent to the occupants. OH wait!!! I already own theses properties, I already pay the occupants for there judgments and decisions. Damn, Thought I was on to something. Anyway, need the trillion and lots of blue help in my volunteer state where they don’t know what that word means. lol Come on Down!!!

Exactly. Liberals whine about how Ginsburg should retire because of her age, but that does nothing to change the ā€œbalanceā€ on SCOTUS. Only by losing Scalia/Thomas or Kennedy do we have a hope of getting justice for anyone outside of the 1 percent or Corporate America.

Another one from the Department Of No-Shit.

This is what happens when your buddies turn on you, though – suddenly, telling the truth is pretty easy.
