Illinois has yet to receive its data request letter. Local news outlets report voters are very vocal about saying do not comply, even with the publicly available data.

There are plenty of unanswered questions that can give states legal cover.

State officials realize they’ll be held accountable if they hand voter information over to these kooks and it’s hacked (if not ceded to the Russians voluntarily). Also, accusing people of allowing massive fraud does not invite sympathy - especially when you’re dealing with Southern Republican gentlemen who care very much about their honor.

It’ll be a miracle if Kobach escapes this without getting slapped across the face with a dueling glove.
