“Well, I have no idea. I just don’t know, that’s amazing,” Or as Jeb! would put it, “Stuff happens.”

This is what happens when you elect people to govern who don’t think there should be any governing going on.

Did no one in her party teach her how to avoid getting caught?

Fox: This is just a proof that there are just way too many regulations and Liberal Media is at it again. Its her money and she should spend it the way she likes it.

Fun in The Land of Enchantment. That would be Republican Governor and potential Veep candidate Susana Martinez’ SOS facing the choice of resigning in disgrace or being disgraced at trial. After working tirelessly, spending millions, and diverting State personnel resources to fail to expose fraud among Democratic Party voters, she herself is found to be a major fraud and criminal. At least she will never have to worry about jail time, what with being one of the Fat Cats.

This up and coming GOP sweetie took more money out of casino ATM machines than she and her hubby grossed in the same year to the tune of $300+K. It was on heckuva gambling problem, or more likely a money laundering scheme. EDIT: Here is a better link - http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na--ff-new-mexico-secretary-20151004-story.html It’s easy to get stories about corrupt Gatos Gordos mixed up.

In a nutshell, the Republican path to prosperity:

  1. Run for elected office.
  2. Set up campaign account.
  3. Co-mingle personal and campaign funds.
  4. Profit!

How full of yourself must you be to stuff like this? What made he feel safe in doing it? She’ll cop to the minor stuff and walk.

I speak English as a second language so can someone tell me what’s the difference between mingle and co-mingle? I don’t see how you can mingle without it being a co as well.

“Mingle” is usually used something one’s self does, e.g. “She mingled with the crowd.”
“Comingle” is something you do to, e.g., “She co-mingled the various funds.”

Just a question of time until we hear the gambling-addiction-mentally-ill-not-responsible defense.

“Co-mingle” is a transitive verb, and thus takes an object, such as in “co-mingled funds”. As an intransitive verb, “mingle” does not take an object.

Co-mingling, or commingling, is a term that refers to something being combined with something else and being treated the same, even though the items’ origins are different. It has different meanings depending on the context.

In law, commingling is a breach of trust in which a fiduciary mixes funds that s/he holds in the care of a client with her/his own funds, making it difficult to determine which funds belong to the fiduciary and which belong to the client.

Mingling does not have the same negative connotations, such as when you mingle with others you meet at a party.

All NM politicians above a certain level (say Santa Fe County Sheriff Greg Solano for one egregious example http://www.recentpoker.com/news/Greg-Solano-0182.html ) get fluff sentences. Duran gets the choices of resigning or being impeached from her office. The criminal charges will be shepherded through the courts to a carefully controlled outcome. If she cops a plea for probation don’t be surprised.
