I understand too well why the Donald can’t/won’t change. Like many of you here, I’ve gone from loving Bernie to despising Bernie. Unfortunately, I have friends and family who haven’t, who still think he’s the world’s savior. I’ve learned over and over that pointing out his weaknesses is useless, does no good and only upsets me. So these days, before I know I’ll be seeing a B supporter, I figuratively tape my mouth shut. I vow to myself that I won’t bring up anything political, and I won’t respond to politics. “I can do that” I tell myself. Well, guess what. I can’t. I’m able now to not initiate the subject, but when I hear something that I know is crazy, I respond. Yup, it’s hard to change. I think I’m a pretty reasonable person, but I can’t keep my mouth shut.
I think of that whenever I read about someone saying the Donald is gonna change. My guess is that it’s even harder for him than it is for me. It ain’t gonna happen.
new Republican battle theme song…
this one’s for you Mitch and Paulie Boi
Other than Trump being Trump, why is a presidential candidate talking about his personal lawsuit in a stump speech?
The best these Republicans can make of this bad situation is to campaign for Republicans to turn out for the down-ticket vote, to ensure Congress stays red.
But that means more or less tacitly - if not explicitly - admitting the WH will go to Hillary.
I didn’t say it was a good choice.
GOP is stuck with a candidate who cannot win, who is running an amateur hour campaign in the face of the most experienced presidential nominee we’ve seen in a generation, who has a mansion full of dirty laundry, who is undisciplined and erratic, who regularly undermines advisors and won’t listen to expert advice.
I expect by fall we will get to witness the spectacle of Trump being abandoned en masse by Republican pols and candidates.
George Bernard Shaw’s quote perfectly sums up Trump:
“Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.”
Yup! …And Republican ~snicker!~ “leadership,” The Donny has a message for you:
#Know Your Place…or FUCKOFF’! This is all about ME!

lmao
Trump needs to be asked why his attorneys are not filing motions alleging judicial bias and judge to recuse himself.
Put Trump on the spot.
“I think there is always a hope that he is going to change his tone, and I think there is an expectation that he is going to change his tone,” Sen. John Thune (R-SD), a member of GOP leadership…
John, the check is in the mail.
Trump cannot control his “inner pig.”
Mitch McConnell was overheard saying, “Oh, fuuuuuuuu*k!” _____and was last seen getting the hell outta’ town:
What is gobsmacking-and something I really understand–is how Republicans are just now “waking up to the realization” that Trump is unelectable. This has been obvious since the beginning to everybody but them.
Their propensity for denialism is infinite. It simply has no boundaries.
TPM, please get an intern to do copy editing. Please.
Mitch McConnell was so upset and befuddled that, in lieu of taking advantage of another chicken today and trying to make excuses for Trump, he just lost it…

Until I saw that, I loved turtles. Now, I’m traumatized. WTF?
It’s time to quit attacking various people that you competed with or various minority groups within the country and get on message…
I’ve got news for you, Mitch. Trump is on message. It’s the same message he’s been on since the campaign began.
The modern GOP has treated the Democrats and journalists (and the American people too) like an abusive spouse; constantly beating them until they are willing to do anything to get the beatings to stop. Now, why is it a surprise when they find themselves with a candidate who’s beating them until they give in with the futile hope the beatings will stop?
The party that advocates for the parental rights of rapists, the party that believes aggression works, that greed is good…
Of course abusers are going to promise their victims that they’ll change.
Because his attorneys know they don’t have any grounds to allege bias. They probably can’t point to a ruling that is even remotely suspicious. They want to work in his court in the future.
Let’s face it, the lawsuit isn’t going Trump’s way 100% so the infant terrible thinks he is being treated badly.
Trump’s main appeal to his troglodyte followers has been his crudeness. if he now turns more “presidential” and starts to sound like just another candidate reading words written by someone else from a teleprompter , what will those followers do?
Trump has been upping the level of outrageousness (e.g. Vince Foster) regularly, as the old insults have lost some of their punch due to repetition. A junkie needs to up the dose in order to get the hit, and Trump is nothing if not an adulation junkie. So it seems that he has painted himself into a nasty corner (and brought along a good deal of the GOP to share it). He tones it down and turns off his followers.Or he continues and/or escalates and loses everyone else.
My schadenfreude runneth over.
