Bring it.

Fuck them. I have never seen an incoming administration attempt to do more grandstanding before taking office than the amateur hour Trump Administration. Let them bring up all their legislative maneuverings and fuckery once Trump is in office. This should not be the time for them to start screwing the American people. Pass a clean funding bill. Debate the merits of a waiver for Mattis and the reason for the prohibition once Trump is in office. Let his Administration deal with the consequences of their brinksmanship on behalf of a statutorily prohibited appointee amongst all the other inexperienced amateurs in this Cabinet of clowns. .

shut down then. I already hate the incoming government anyway.

No. If there was even a semblance of good faith going on with the Rethugs Iā€™d say maybe. But there ainā€™t. Never was and never will be. If the government has degraded so badly to the point where this is where weā€™re at, I say shut this sh*t down.

Most likely Manchin will try his hand at ā€œcomityā€ maybe even Heitkamp. Those are the only ones I could see crossing over.

On the one hand, civilian control of the military. On the other, the one guy who might be able to keep Flynn, Yates, and maybe Bolton in line.

In a word, fuck.

Donald knows that the industrial complex payoffs come in large denominations that he expects will be unmarked and untraceable. Air Force One will be making lots of trips to Switzerland. Or maybe Corey Lewandowski or Kellyanne Conway will be the bag man for cover.

Find eight or nine amidst the Democratic side and send him on,

If there is a chance for debate, pick two from team blue and have em state why they (the remainder) are presumably voting no.

Whoever McConnell (or Cornyn) chooses to state their case, have to know that their reasons for sticking that waiver in the bill might come back to bite em.

Whatever ā€˜team redā€™ state is also subject to a national ad.

However pick ya battles.

Von Moltke didnā€™t lie: no plan survives contact when its up against a determined enemy.

The Democrats have time on their side still.

Mattis waiver? Sure, Mitchy, no problem.

Confirm Garland like it was your JOB.

No?

Then fuck you. Cruz was right, SCOTUS can function with better than six.

Or you can nuke the filibuster in a few weeks, but then, you own everything.

Your move, Bud.

Is there a lifetime of being held hostage by these goons?

This is how it will be. The Trumpists never met a Rule, Regulation or Law that canā€™t be changed to suit them.

Or ignored because, hey, weā€™re all on the same team, right?.

Make em ā€˜eatā€™ those beliefs in '18.

Ever the useful idiots, the Dems will put up token or no opposition. Got no problem with Mad Dog, but then again I didnā€™t have a problem with Garland either. Let him be a recess appointment ā€¦ F*CK 'em.

Or risk shutdown?! Republicans have full control of the levers of power. Any shutdown is of their own doing, with no possibility whatsoever of shirking responsibility or casting blame. They own it all.

Look, I understand that nominating and approving him means that Congress has to grant a waiver, as it did during the Truman administration I believe, but Mattis seams the least of our worries in this cabinet. His positions on Russia might even be an asset when considered against much of the other information coming out of the Trump team (is Manafort really back? that would be worrying).

Please someone disagree with me hear, but I think the message should be something like, once again the GOP is willing to draw some crazy line in the sand and try to bring the government to a halt. Now, like before, those who are reasonable, the great majority being on the left will of course agree to push forward the nomination of Gen Matti. This waiver is unique in our countries long and prosperous history and we are happy to know that the great majority of the public understands the importance of this cabinet position and the need to have a smooth transition. This position entails reading up and working with many different channels and Mattis history tells us that he takes very seriously the history and robust intelligence needed in order to succeed. This day is about him.

The Dems live to fight it out in the public with Sessions, the get to continue to be intrigued with the many conflicts of interests especially between his family (supposedly going to run his assets) and many foreign governments . . . and no, this isnā€™t the equivalent of the Clinton foundation for many reasons but non-profit and government regulated being at the top of that list. Obviously I am ranting a bit here, but the Dems should not run in hide the GOP wants them to save the government and the GOP should not be mad that they are asking for a waiver for someone (tell this why this waiver is important; i.e. civilian control of the military is a long standing tradition) and they should not be mad when we voice that fact. I can move on to the next battle. What you got?

Shut it down,
Unless every judge that Obama has even named is passed, a budget is written to Progressive standards exclusively, the death of the DAPL and the Keystone is incorporated in legislation shut it down
Let herr drumpf and his vandals face a situation comparative to what Obama had to face.
either total and complete abject surrender by the rā€™s or crash the entire systemm
Turnabout is fair play and these punks only respect strength so show them now.
Alas I fear the gutless will roll over and asked for more abuse, just like hillary has since she failed.
