there will always be rats.

The question now is: can the next wave of GOP rodents get elected?

I’m not the one you asked but right now I think the answer is a resounding NO.

It seems Tom Steyer’s NextGen America organization put $3.3 million into VA’s race, and that’s on top of the $10 million he’s spent on the petition to impeach.

$2 million for 60 paid staffers and 1,000 volunteers in Virginia to flood 26 colleges in an effort to turn out young voters. The early result: Twice as many voters under 30 turned out for Democratic gubernatorial winner Ralph Northam on Tuesday than did for Hillary Clinton a year earlier, exit polls showed. NextGen spent $1.2 million to turn out voters in new immigrant communities, knocking on 90,000 doors. And it worked with labor organizations to reach working class communities. The result: Democratic turnout was higher Tuesday than it was in previous midterm elections.

The new George Soros? I like it! I hope he is open to spreading some of that money around in other states.

At this rate of departure the competition for jobs on K Street will be so intense the vaunted invisible hand of the free market will reduce lobbyists to minimum wage workers.

I’m praying for Mark Meadows or Jim Jordon to decide ‘they won’t seek re-election’…

Interesting story at SF Chron this a.m. about Steyer; but Soros like a lot of other fabulously wealthy do gooders (Madonna, Bono) is hiding his money offshore according to the Paradise Papers. Queen Elizabeth as well.

He’s dropped at least $91 million on left-leaning causes and candidates last year alone. Over the past several years in California, the former hedge fund manager-turned-environmentalist has been funding pro-environment statewide ballot measures and taking on oil companies, Big Tobacco and corporate tax loopholes like only someone with his wallet can. Through his NextGen America, he is funding campaigns to register Millennial voters and help immigrants across the country.

Now, if only Pete Sessions will take his toys and go home. That pile of excrement has got to be defeated. His challenger is Colin Allred, an attorney and former NFL player. Texas needs to kick the crap out of many of its horrible elected officials, including Dan Patrick, Greg Abbott, the felony-indicted AG Ken Paxton and a host of other fecal boluses. Sessions is in office entirely due to gerrymandering. There’s a realistic chance of beating him.

Nevertheless, the money not hiding offshore seems to be going to good places.

What so many on the left fail to understand is that we’ve got plenty of our own billionaires. It’s time they get up off their shoulders like Steyer has and get in the game.

He will be.

He will. His district starts in the middle of my street. There is a woman Democrat running against him. I don’t know much about her except that my neighbor across the street is a friend of hers and sent me an email about her campaign.
