GOP Hopes Dim.
Dim GOP Hopes
Let them swing slowly in the wind as a famous Nixonian once said…perhaps frog walk one close tie or family member out of the white house per month…Jared, Kelly, Ivanka, Jr., Sarah, Kelly Ann, Pence building to the crescendo of the evil clown going out in a straight jacket, foaming at the mouth and screaming tweets into the wind off to a locked pysch ward…and the inevitable lobotomy.
Watergate ended with something like 40 convictions and dozens doing time. Watergate, in comparison to this Russo-Trumpian-GOP-FSU-Cypriot cyberbot succotash, was pretty straightforward.
Nunes stepped back from the Russia probe in April after criticism that he was too close to the White House, but remains chairman of the committee.
That is a very polite way of putting it, after he jumped out of a Limo to make a
bizarre midnight run to a White House grounds rendezvous with National Security Council member Ezra Cohen-Watnick. There are other expressions that could have been used instead of “too close to the White House.” This is sort of like saying that Roy Moore has an appreciation for younger women.
OT but sent with sincerity. Happy Thanksgiving TPMers may your day be full of friendship, family, and love. I am thankful for your smarts and snarks.
GOP dim hopes.
SucK iT, LibTards!
We need to remember that it was just a few weeks ago that the GOP went on a full court press to make the dossier the issue and to use a ginned up controversy to shut down the hearings. That all ended with the Manafort/Gates indictment and the Papado guilty plea. The GOP is bracing for the Flynn indictment and is buying time to get a tax cut bill through. What they ought to be doing is getting out in front of this thing and aggressively investigating the matter to at least pin most of the blame on a few key expendable parties like Jared Kushner and Michael Flynn. What I can’t understand is the utter lack of calculated risk taking by people like Rubio. He could own the GOP if he took the risk to target someone like Kushner.
I am especially thankful for you GOET.
Trump’s collusion with Russia is tentacular and multi fold. Not that it’ll take Mueller much longer to formulate a strong case, but I suspect it’ll take years for us to know all that happened, and that’s only if the government doesn’t decide to hide some incriminating details for “national security”. I’ve seen enough to know what happened is very sinister.
Dim GOP works too.
Thanks for the report: I’m honestly surprised at the amount of work the committees appear to have done, possibly because I wasn’t expecting much from any committee run by Nunes or Grassley and only a bit more from a committee run by Burr.
Probably should correct that and say I didn’t expect anything but bullshit and red herrings from any committee run by any Republican but the relationship between Warner and Burr appears to be a bit more promising than most.
All substantive hopes remain with Mueller and I hope to give great thanks and hallelujah then; thanks as always to family, friends, and the resistance in the meantime.
Nixon’s resignation came 19 months after he was inaugurated. We’re 300 days in, but it will happen. But before DiJiT resigns he’ll pardon everyone within hearing range, because they won’t know and neither will he that a pardon means they’re saying they’re guilty.
Same to you from the blue house.
@leftcoaster Best wishes for a good day and better times ahead.
Anyone who honestly thought these obvious traitors would be quickly exonerated was indulging in some pretty powerful wishful thinking, that’s all I can say. It has to be mostly happy talk for the constituents back home, IMHO. Every on-background account I’ve read has nearly all the Senate and most of the House in a quiet panic over what they’ve got themselves into. They know how it’s going to end. The only question is how long it’s dragged out and how much destruction happens in that time.
On that cheerful note, best Turkey Day wishes to everyone. Let’s take give ourselves a brief vacation from our own quiet panic and just enjoy life for a bit.
I think that already happened, judging from his current toddler-like demeanor.
Well, it is tURkEY DaY!
Shorter Republicans: Who cares if Russia takes over the US just so long as we get to ban abortions!
