I’ve been getting the Financial Times this year, and I really have come to appreciate and rely on it. They do great work. Yes it has a financial slant, and that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but they offer excellent journalism and great writing on US and global politics.

Anyway, they have a great black friday deal, if you are in their zone of home deliveries. $200 for a great paper AND ePaper access, 6 days a week is a gift that you’ll get (or give) all year.

I won’t plug this again, but wanted to do it one time.

A federal court just overturned the latest Texas attempt at legislating abortion out of existence. For the 3d time, too. I sense a great weariness in the federal courts on this issue.

So Happy Thanksgiving - this one sure feels a lot more hopeful than the last one.

Next year’s elections are going to be epic. :smile:

This court made it very clear in this decision that the state’s interest in the fetus is totally subordinate to the woman’s constitutionally guaranteed right to control her own body.

There is a hierarchy of rights and I really appreciated the court’s laying that out in no uncertain terms.

I signed up for a year of the Atlantic for about the same reasons, only $10 for 12 issues and can only wonder why I didn’t do it sooner. This story and its writer were on MSNBC last night. White nationalists hoping the president who does nothing but play golf is the answer to their prayers.
