Discussion: GOP Group To Launch Ad Campaign Against Beto, Who Is Seen As Huge Threat

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is also reportedly working with Republican groups to ramp up on the ground operations in his home state to counter O’Rourke’s popularity should he enter the race.

not to come up with better policy for all Americans, no, just to run up the negs on Beto.

'cuz, like, 'Murika!

Texas being in play would also mean another electoral wipeout in Harris,Dallas,Travis and Bexar Counties just like 2018.

Republicans confirm existence of white male privilege. Can’t see how that strategy could go wrong.

According to a Sunday Politico report, the Club for Growth has prepared an ad spot to highlight O’Rourke’s “white male privilege,” an attempt to distance him from former President Barack Obama, to whom he’s often compared.

This attack on Beto should give T rumpp (or Cornyn) the advantage.

And i would have suspected that any difference from Barack Obama would a good thing for the Club for Growth, but maybe they’re different now. Maybe they miss him.

And here I was thinking the “Club for Growth” was utterly humorless.

That’s it, point out that he’s white, because nobody’s noticed that yet and if word gets around it’ll sink his career.

I swear to God these people are stupid. Once and for all, you morons, it wasn’t “political correctness run amok” that made us vote for Obama. It was his knowledge, skills, and personal qualities. It’s the same with Beto. He’s a thoughtful, insightful person, he has tremendous communication skills, and he’s charismatic like Obama. We’ve noticed that he’s white. But we’re willing to look past that. You really have some problems with this understanding life stuff, honestly you do. We’re the party that tries to work with everyone in the nation. That’s why there’s more of us than there are of you. Subtle hint there, a lesson to be learned, if you think about it. But you won’t. Gah, just go to hell.

How many stories per week are we averaging sourcing to POLITICO? If I liked POLITICO that much, I would pay to be one of their Prime readers. But I stopped, somewhere after they took on Kenneth Moore and Rich Lowry and began baying for the DOJ to indict Hillary Clinton before she could win the 2016 primaries. Now, I get to read their catty political gossip stories at least 5 times a week, on TPM.

It’s practically their hallmark.

I stopped long before that, probably somewhere around 2010.

They should just save their money and aggregate all the super-reliably-researched pre-launch hit pieces that huffpo is lining up for Beto. And Biden. Oh, and their past ones on Harris, Kloubichar, Sherrod Brown, Castro, Inslee, and every other Democrat that’s ever considered jumping in whose name doesn’t rhyme with “Flanders” or “Miller brand”.

I should have stopped around 2010. You are absolutely right. That is about when they decided they were lagging behind certain other political blogs/magazines and were staking out a more right leaning, anti -Obama, rabidly anti-HRC readership. And lots of catty political People Magazine type stories.

They were at least good for good laughs sometimes. For example, they had a front page story on “POLITICO Magazine” asking why none of the Republican 2016 presidential candidates had signed up Kenneth Moore as their Economic Advisor. Kenneth Moore. A Master’s Degree in Economics who gets to appear on FOX and in POLITICO as some huge expert on Economics. Still beating the Reagan Supply Side Bullshit, notwithstanding the at least 4 times it has been discredited empirically. Since Reagan.

I know I’m not a low-information voter or an “independent”, but lately every gop attack ad I’ve seen the text of has made me want to vote for that candidate even more.

It could possibly have been before that for me. A lot of publications’/sites’ coverage of the 2008 Election put them on my “No-Fly” list, including HuffPo.

GOP, by all means focus on the male Dems and underestimate the women.

it’s almost like they have no capacity to learn, grow or evolve…

Autopsy results from 2012 were soooooooo informative and helpful for them.

It’s the giant misunderstanding that launched Sarah Palin into the national body politic. “You want to appeal to women, you have a woman running competitively in your primary, well by golly, look at us, we have a woman too! We’ll put her on the ticket. Now you have to vote for us! Surely that’s how it works, right? Right! Right???”

Can we expect more “attacks” about how he knows how to skateboard, and used to play in a band, and is too cool to take seriously as a politician?

Those are the big guns they’re saving for when they’re desperate to keep people from voting for him who never would have voted for him anyway.

Devastating!
