Discussion: GOP Group To Launch Ad Campaign Against Beto, Who Is Seen As Huge Threat

It might be that the “Club for Gross” simply wants to paint Beto as the threat (not at all sure that he is) so as to create a narrative rather than react to one. Beto is a great talent, but he won’t win the nomination, nor will he embrace/promote serious progressive policies (Medicare For All being the numero uno).

I’m glad to see the GOP is wasting its money by attacking Beto and I hope they spend a lot of money doing it. Beto would be the worst candidate the Dems could nominate. Beto lost to a guy who was so universally reviled that another GOP senator said, “If you shot Ted Cruz on the floor of the senate and the trial was in the senate, no one would vote to convict.” If Beto can’t beat Ted Cruz in Texas, how’s he going to beat the feral Trump in the rest of the country? I agree with Rahm Emanuel, who said, “If Beto O’Rourke wants to go and run for president, God bless him. He should put his hat in and make his case. But he lost. You don’t usually promote a loser to the top of the party.”

Cornyn, whether he dollars up or not, is in some trouble. He’s probably Beto’s biggest fan for Beto to concentrate all his energy on the Presidency alone.

The GOP probably cheated on that one.

GOP anti-Beto campaign:

“He’s young!”

“He’s good-looking!”

“He’s not Donald Trump!”

Yeah, that’ll go over like gangbusters.

It seems they’re more afraid of him running for the Senate than for President. Personally, I’d rather he ran for Senator than President. Beto really has them rattled either way.

According to a Sunday Politico report, the Club for Growth has prepared an ad spot to highlight O’Rourke’s “white male privilege,”

Well, since we all know conservatives have no sense of irony or sarcasm or humor at all, the Club For Growth must be absolutely serious about using this line of attack, which may be the funniest thing since Donald Trump signing Bibles.

Interesting - though I suspect that if O’Rourke couldn’t beat an unpopular asshole like Cruz, then he will probably not be able to take down Cornyn.

Though I hope I’m wrong about that.

There’s an old commercial whose tagline was, “Never Let Them See You Sweat”. Well, sounds like the GOP is starting to sweat, and guess what? We can all see it.

The party of “white male privilege” calling out “white male privilege.” Oh the irony …

I continued on Huffington Post for a long time after the election. I liked their book blogger, Dave Astor. I liked lurking in the Latino Voices pages for some good articles and to fling mud with the Latino Hating Trolls who loved to comment there. There was a whole subculture of Troll there who objected to the use of the word Latino. Some of them were ethno-centrists who did not want to be lumped in with the Puerto Rican, Dominican and Mexican Americans. One guy had a handle like “Academic Freedom” which probably meant he was some right winger who felt persecuted. He always brought up Chilean founding father Bernardo O’Higgins as some res ipsa loquitur irrefutable evidence that there was no such thing as Latinos. Anyway, I stayed to fling mud, provide some researched answers about stereotypes (all PRs are on Welfare…there are more bigger roaches in PR than in Santee South Carolina…or Queens for that matter…)and refute made up bullshit. Their Sports pages were also fun.

Anyway, Rich Lowry is a miserable wretch who used POLITICO to lobby for for-profit colleges and the like.

He lost by 2.6%. He was supposed to lose by double digits. Sometimes failure brings opportunities where none were supposed to exist.

I can’t see their name without thinking it’s the Hair Club for Growth/Men.

Can’t wait to see the ads, they’ll probably help Beto.

Meh, I’m cool with it. This way I get the gossip without going to their site and getting sucked into a bunch of b.s…

Gee, you mean tha Trump and his imbecelic Rethug sycophants are scared of a young, former Texas Congressman? Oh my!

Well, they should be, because Beto seems to have shit together far better then all of them do, and his vision and energy are focused upon working for the people. What a concept.
