Ad hominem from a GOP liar.

Doesn’t the rule say something about Presidents elected with the assistance of foreign nations can not name a Supreme Court member? Heck I think the rule even has a clause about Russia assisted elections are not legitimate!

The thing that always pops in my mind during situations like this…its not the hypocrisy of the thing, its what complete whiners they are about it. They are the 6 year old who will gladly steal a lollipop from a toddler and smirk about how big they are while kicking the baby in the process…and then screech to the heavens and ball their eye balls out when a 12 year old bumps into them on the playground.

If they want to be hypocritical, evil bastards, then be hypocritical, evil bastards…but for the love of pasta, grow a pair!

Yep, seems McConnell is in a race to get Gorsuch on the bench before all hell breaks out in the Senate. Hold 'em Dems, as long as you can. And fuck you Mitch.

Also I think they are waiting to challenge the rulings on the Muslim ban. Gotta rig the refs first.

Democrats should respond with. So, the filibuster will happen get over it.

Another example of how it takes a very special type of person to be a Republican politician. Maybe it comes down to the lack of or a very warped soul. I could just never do it and look myself in the mirror or be happy or satisfied - no matter how much money or power. But, that’s just me (fuckin’ liberal).

They ‘dare’ because they know that they won’t be held to account. By ANYBODY.

There are two responses to “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?” One of them is to stop doing things that violate any sense of decency. The other is the one republicans in the senate have chosen.

OT but I thought I’d share a little schadenfreude to brighten everyone’s morning

CNN: It looks like it’s going to get even worse for Trump

With a possible shutdown and the Russia investigation looming, Trump’s road ahead could be grim

The GOP argument on Goresuch is a good one for their base, because you do have to be mentally challenged in order to be a Republican. People who can take full advantage of their inherent thinking ability couldn’t be tricked by that argument, just as they couldn’t be tricked by the argument against allowing a president to appoint a justice during the last 14 months of his term. Our politics have been reduced to a real life IQ test.

The black belt level hypocrisy of the Republicans is no longer even news. My only question is do they giggle about it when they get together behind closed doors. The crap they pull, especially McConnell, no longer ranks as partisanship - it is some new level of government undermining that may be called McConnellism in the future if we have a future.

Democrats, or at least enough of them, clearly didn’t care about the Supreme Court. They didn’t like THEIR candidate and they refused to vote for what they saw as the lesser of two evils.

Unfortunately for them, there are no other Barack Obamas out there. And there are only so many people with his qualities who also:

  • Want to run for public office, let alone the Presidency.
  • Can raise enough money to run a viable campaign.
  • Won’t scare off swing voters (sorry Bernie Sanders).
  • Won’t commit ill-timed gaffes that confuse swing voters and/or galvanize the other side (sorry, Joe Biden).

Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

May this individual (should he be confirmed) be forever referred to in the annals of history as “Garland Gorsuch”

Yeah, that may be true, but what about one who’s in his last month ?

Motto for Trump and the Republican party:

Omne Mendacium

All is lies.

It’s the daily reproving of exactly what hypocritical bastards they are.
They have stolen a few Presidencies now and are currently working on a SC nomination.
The combo of bought and paid for Judges and stolen Presidencies is all that the Repubs have.
They would be beyond irrelevant if the playing field were level.
